    If only judges were less gullible. I've heard more than a few blindly take a cop's word because the cop's a "sworn" officer.
    Saw one case where a guy was fighting a ticket. The judge told him that while the cop was a "expert", the guy had a reason to lie (like quotas aren't a thing). The guy lost his case.

    Why would he be allowed to continue a career in law enforcement. Not enough to hold his future testimony suspect. Question is why would he even have the opportunity to give testimony? That implies he still has a job as a cop. What is that? Alright. You want to keep him. How about this. Have the City Attorney calculate the cost of ALL those cases you dropped that had anything to do with the Deputy. The cost of all the trials, all the paperwork, all the time from all the worker's who had anything to do with bringing his cases to trial. Add it all up. Then charge the deputy that amount. He can keep his job if the debt is settled. Take is car. Take his land. Take his banks account. Take his house. Take his pention and social security. Take EVERYTING he owns and repay the communitee for the expense that he had caused. THEN and ONLY THEN should he be able to go back to work.

  • @dericksmith2137
    @dericksmith2137 4 дні тому

    Cant prosecute cases where it’s his word/findings?
    This is exactly why I’ve questioned when Brady List cops are allowed to remain as cops.
    Taxpayers will pay hundreds of hours for a cop to investigate a matter, but if that cop has this type of questionable conduct, then those hours are going to be wasted because any decent defence attorney will use the cops history and get his client off.
    I’m sure law enforcement is a difficult job but if you cannot perform you duties with honesty, integrity, and professionalism- you no longer should wear a badge!
    (This also points out the ridiculousness of the SCOTUS decision allowing cops to lie as an ‘investigative tool’.)
    Hard to tell a cop he can lie, but then say he has to tell the truth. I think allowing cops to lie is a detriment to citizens and to officers safety. If you know a cop can’t legally lie, then you won’t protest/argue/put up a fight when he says _____. But knowing they can lie, means you need to challenge everything a cop says.

    Willfully misleading isn't that the definition of lying or false testimony on their legal terms they call it perjury but you notice an officer always gets charged with some flaky off the wall charge that kind of but doesn't really relate to the crime he actually committed I think the district attorney in this case has a lot of police officer semen on his face and in his mouth
