Nicely done. Thank you. Watched this video 2 weeks ago, then today, while dog-walking, I found an old wooden mop handle abandoned on the curb. It was a nice afternoon, so I sat down on the front step, with the mop handle and a $5 dollar pocket knife - then whittled a nice short fid. The task took a couple of hours because the wood was unbelievably hard and the knife was unbelievably dull. Finished the fid with a dash of vegetable oil from the kitchen. I am very pleased with the results. Especially since it didn't cost $32 on eBay.
I was replying sarcastically to the person who said "find a friend with a lathe. It will be quicker". Hence the you do not get the point of the video. It has been deleted. I am in full agreement with the vid, Use what you have to make whet you need. @@Josef_R

Excellent!
This is exactly like my experience with carving- it is not only affordable, but also rewarding being able to make a nice tool by hand.

Have you ever thought of doing a video on making a sailors whisk? I'd love to see one done with twisted manila- diamond knot.
Hi i cant believe iv found this channel your splicing videos are the best ever ( are your from ParacordGuild )
I need one to make a perfect 2” hole after heating pvc. Hopefully it’s easy to make these. I have plenty of plum wood I can use for this.
Find a friend with a lathe...5 minutes.
Hey!
A lathe or even a sander. But well, this way also works. No tools needed and you can do it yourself.

Or just buy one. I do not think you get the point of the video.
@@weebluegaffer9298 Buying one is not making one. I do not think you get the point of the video.
