A 520 and 525 chain have the same pitch ie same distance between roller pins and same roller diameter. The difference is in the width of the chain and sprockets.
@@cascadeclear I have no experience with this whatsoever. I bought a custom chopper, no “owners manual” lol. It has a 530 chain. After doing more research the 530 requires a sprocket width of 3/8 and the 525 a 5/16. Ive had the wrong chain for my sprocket. Anyhow, thanks for the video.
520 chains are 600’s and under. 525 for middle weight bikes And 530 for 1000cc and above. You’re gonna be crying when that chain snaps and punches a hole in your engine.
I did this and hated it. I felt an instant power loss. Gsxr 750, ecu flash, dyno tune, the moment I switched from stock chain kit to 520 chain kit and sprocket I hated it. I’m going back stock.
What’s the point of doing this video? You didn’t know difference between o ring chain and x ring chain! On the other hand, all that can be achieved by losing some body fat . No hard feelings, good video though
What are you talking about. Its about the mass of the sprockets that makes the difference. 1 pound (~0.5kg) less of revolving mass i a lot less for the engine to move.

Thank you so much sir. Ill keep in mind to always going for aluminium sprocket
For street use don’t. They don’t last long
Video taught this noob a few things I didn't know. Comments from everyone revealed even more info. Thanks all.
Great video man
People be getting lite weight chain and sprockets but be gaining weight eating , don’t make sense
🤣
Thanks for the video!
What size sprockets did you put on it?
I do not remember.
525 is stronger. That’s most important. 520 might break under hard acceleration or bump at speed.
yes the 525 is what comes stock on a 07 gsxr 750
Is there a difference in overall width between the two?
I did not look at that. So i can not say for sure.

D.I.D.'s 520 ZVMX chains are good to 1300cc. It's what I run on my 1000.

chains and aam aam aam....
Go on diet if you want save weight
You clearly have no idea of the effect of rotational mass vs just weight. Go educate yourself as to why it matters.
