Merry Christmas Eric 🎄 I found your channel at the very end of 2023 , and looking forward to and watching your thoughtful and warm hearted video's have brought me so much pleasure and joy in 2024, thank you! I'm currently reading The Land In Winter, I was so happy to get this book, along with Time of the Child before Christmas, as I'd ordered them from the library quite awhile ago, and the waiting list is a long one for both of these. I'm 100 or so pages in, I'm really enjoying it so far 🎄
I was just thinking about the big freeze / Plath left us during it , and I always wished I could read more about it- anyway, I plan to pick up this book when I can -thanks for bringing it to my attention. Also like your lobster 🦞 ornament.
I can’t wait to read this one, Eric…I don’t see any release date for the US, so I will order it from the U.K. to be sure I can get it. Merry Christmas, and thank you for all your great videos and recommendations!❤️📚💚
I do so love a good party scene! Not so much the Mrs Dalloway parties tho - more like the Balzac parties, where at the climax every one is talking at once and there are no tags to tell you who is saying what but you sort of can guess.
I think I read three novels by Miller: Pure, The Optimists and Oxygen. It's been quite a while though. All of them very accomplished novels: intelligent and sensitive. Never among the very best, but certainly way above average.
Sounds fascinating. I have a novel of his called Now we shall be entirely free. Marvellous historical novel. He writes beautifully. Many good Christmas and New Year wishes to you and your family Eric. 🥳📚
Ugh. I already was so eager to read this and now you’ve made me even more frustrated that it doesn’t have a U.S. publication date. May have to break down and buy it from Blackwell’s.
Ohhh I’m intrigued! Thanks for bringing this to my attention. 😊💙

Thank you! That's wonderful to hear. I'm so glad you're reading this novel too. Happy Christmas!
You know I was captivated by this one. Thank you for talking about the party. It was a great set piece.
Yes, loved that scene!
It’s on my kindle TBR
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Eric! Thank you for your book reviews and recommendations! I have not read anything by this author.🎄📚
Thank you! Happy Christmas!
I am currently reading "The land in winter" and it's the perfect quiet read during the holidays.
Thank you for your review!

This is my next read. I really enjoy Andrew Miller’s writing but for some reason his books often fall under the radar.

Just finished Wellness by Nathan Hill, great read! This will be my next.

Hello Eric🙋♀️ I will certainly look out for “The Land in Winter” by Andrew Miller. It sounds like an interesting novel. HAPPY CHRISTMAS 🎄⛄️❄️

Strange that it doesn’t have a US publication date yet. Hope he isn’t one of those authors American publishers consider too English for the US public.
@ Me too!
