That ST looks absolutely immaculate, both the box and the machine, you don’t see many like that. That pink Discovery Xtra box is the pack-in box for a separate ST pack, maybe they could be bought separately too. The sound chip is nowhere near the Amiga’s, but some developers including the Bitmap Brothers make good use of sampled sound and sampled music to close the gap. Hopefully we might see the odd ST game pick-up in future 🤞
Oh right, thats good yo know then, thankyou for that. Explains why there were no screenshots on the back of the box 👍. Its a shame the sound wasnt as good really but as you say, some clever sampling by developers 👍 Yes, there will definitely be ST pick ups in the future 👍
I will show you how to do a J-turn when we go to the games fair 😎. Nearly bought an atari instead of an amiga back in the day. Fairly sure I've never actually played on one. Nice addition to your collection mate, looks very minty. Love fantasy zone, didn't know it had been released on anything but the mastersystem and megadrive. Awesome pick ups mate, as always 👍
🤣 thanks for the offer of a JTurn tutorial but ive asked one of the lads at work what it is 😮...just drive forward please mr birdsall 🤣 Yeah, it looks a good Fantasy Zone rip off, seems like it plays pretty decent too! 👍
Ah im glad that ST has found a good home mate! You've bagged some nice micro titles there, hahahaha that xenon soundtrack is plinky plonky you're right! I could tell you've not had a good meal in a while wait till i see that Jo and Lorraine....
Yep its gone to a good home indeed mate and i honestly cant wait to get my teeth into making games on it as soon as this bloody connector arrives. Jo and Lorraine are starving me mate, im wasting away 🤣
Congrats on the ST there Sean, that one looks straight out the factory, minty fresh. It sure was a stunning computer. I played an STe before I ever saw an Amiga and was dead set on buying for one, but by time I'd saved enough I'd played on an Amiga and that was what I bought. Some cracking pickups all round there mate👍
Thanks mate 😁👍 Yeah, i think once alot of people had seen the amiga in action it changed their minds. I remember going to a computer club in our area when i was a teenager and seeing both the ST's and Amigas in action but it was the Amiga demos that made my mind up. Nowadays i have respect for all systems and owning a computer i never had is something i feel i must do despite its flaws 👍
@@retrogamesrevived1189 the game I played on the ST all thos years ago was to do with raising dragons from eggs, and then you'd send them out on the rampage. Haha no idea what it was called but I was blown away by it at the time. The game that sold me to the Amiga? Lemmings😁 I was smitten as soon as I saw it. Hope you enjoy the ST Sean.
Pleasure to see you as always mate, its never for long enough is it 😢 Hope you get some joy from the ST too, Xenon might not sound as good as the Amiga version though 😂👍🐻
It isnt mate, shall have to make a weekend out of it one day 👍 I actually downloaded the ST Xenon soundtrack first...yeah, its even plinkier than the amiga track so i went with the amiga version 🤣
I bought DINKY DOO for my Commodore 64 as a tape version from a finnish 🇫🇮 auction website in December 2023 😹👍. I haven't tested it yet, but i will someday 🐱👍🕹️. I also bought TRANSFORMERS for my Commodore 64 as a tape version from a local retro game store in Tikkurila, Vantaa (Finland 🇫🇮) in spring 2023 🐱👍. And this game is not a Ocean game - it's a Activision game 🐱👍🕹️. This channel still deserves a big retrospective like 👍 from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮. By the way, welcome back 😺👍🕹️.
I remember looking at that ST on Mrs Bears stall at the last market, it looked in unbelievable condition, lovely addition that I absolutely hate Rugby so you have great taste🤣 Bad luck if the Alternative contact doesn't come good You're definitely right you could easily miss stuff in Vintage Gamer Great stuff Sean 👍
Cheers James, yeah i remember seeing it on the stall too, i think it was towards the end of the day they convinced me i should have it 🤣👍 It is a shame about the alternative stuff but it was a wild stab anyway so never mind 😭🤣
The ST was the only 16bit Microcomputer I ever had, and I only ever played Championship Manager on it 😂😂 Great pickups mate 😎👍 And it's operating system is TOS 😉
That was the same model of ST was the same one I had in my youth. I was pretty lucky as a kid as my Dad was into all this stuff so he upgraded the ram and disk drive in it to a Dual Density drive. I personally don’t think there was that much between the ST and Amiga. Yes the Amiga was a more powerful system, but not as much as Amiga fanboys would make out. For me Dungeon Master is a great game to get for the ST. An absolute classic in my opinion. You got some great games in that power pack to get you started. I really enjoyed Xenon back in the day. If you’re after a good shooter for the ST in the same style then try and track down Gold Runner. Oh and a couple of fighting games that I THINK are ST exclusives are International Karate and Karate Kid Part II. They’re both great games in my opinion. Great as always Sean and I look forward to seeing you at the weekend
You have turned to the dark side, and gone againt commodore. How will you ever repent 😂 Some great games in that pack, bombjack, stargoose, are the 2 that i remeber. All Obviously better playing on the amiga 😜 I loke the look of that LSD trip fantasy zone game. I think that looks really well done Awesome stuff 🤟
Nooooo! My heart is still with Commodore...i just have a weird fetish of owning systems i never owned 🤣 Yeah that fantasy zone clone looks pretty good for the C64 😁 Wait till im creating amazing shoot em ups 🤣
Glad you had a great time seeing the Bear's! And that's awesome what they got you!!!
Its a lovely looking computer and i cant wait to get it in action....but im still waiting for the scart to hdmi connector 😩
Cheers John 😁👍
