  • Jordan ADG 4 Golf Shoe Review
The Jordan ADG model now onto its fourth generation. The previous three models have all been quite similar in design with what I would class as a more casual spikeless golf shoe.
The ADG 4 model however is a complete contrast, here we have the look of a more traditional golf shoe.
As always this is the more commercial Jordan golf shoe with plenty of stocks across the Nike website and also other website such as Trendy Golf etc.
The first point to note is that the price has increased on this model we are now up to £159 compared to the ADG 3 model that was £129. However as mentioned this is not a exclusive release so therefore discount codes on the Nike website such as your birthday month 25% off will work on this shoe.
According to Nike, MJ himself worked on this traditional looking golf shoe, the upper is really impressive we have a full grain leather. This is nice and soft and not what you would class as a ‘hard’ leather. We have perforations on the front in a V shape, which just add to the subtle design. Towards the heel, we have the Jordan logo, the elephant print and this is protected in a heel counter which will add stability when playing golf shots. The counter is glued to the heel on the leather.
The laces adopt the speed lacing system which wraps the shoe around the top of your foot for a snug fit. We also have the nice solid eyelets on the top which adds class to the shoe from a looks point of view as seen on the Jordan 12’s.
Inside the shoe we have leather throughout, which you could argue would not be super comfy. The insole is pretty standard, it is soft and blends well with the midsole.
The midsole has the famous Nike React foam throughout, this is super squishy and really comforatable when you walk. On the top of the midsole we have the moulded rubber that is the same as the outsole. On top of this it looks like stitching as seen on Footjoy traditions, however on closer inspection it is moulded and not stitching.
The outsole is rubber throughout the traction pattern looks a little like shark fins. On the heel they go both ways to give extra traction when hitting the bombs and rotating on your heels. The rubber is not exactly super sturdy and over time on harder surfaces will simply rub away! Thankfully this time though we don’t have to worry about the shoes squeaking like the ADG 3!
Fit wise this shoe looks more like a traditional golf shoe, it fits quite narrow and then as we get to the toe it rounds off nicely very similar to a brogue shoe. Although the shoe looks narrow you have to note that this is a soft premium leather. It will therefore stretch as you wear it. If you have a wide foot you can get away with a size bigger however you run the risk of it cracking on the sides. You can see from me just bending it like you would be walking the creases are already in there deep.
As you all know I am a UK 10 in most shoes and trainers and this shoe fits me perfectly. As mentioned if you are a wider fit I think this shoe would be a struggle.
Overall I am really impressed with this shoe. I prefer the more traditional look with the Jordan twist. The midsole react foam, with the heel counter and premium leather tick a lot of boxes from a performance point of view which I have felt has lacked in previous Jordan golf shoes. At £159 it is pricey, get your birthday discount and for £120 they are well worth it!

I tried one round with these. It was a early tee time and the grass was slightly wet in the first few holes. Grip was decent on the tee box. I walked 18. After 14 holes my feet started to ache. These are more for Power cart players I'm thinking. I took them back and got Nike Air Zoom Infinity Tour NXT Spikeless. Far more comfortable and paid $100 less on sale. Also better grip. These soles are definitely harder so im sure with better insoles theyd do better. But im not paying $240 Canadian for a shoe that needs insoles. They look amazing though.

Yeh I would have to agree, a great shoe for the range or to casually wear in the clubhouse after golf. Walking 18 on a hard surface my feet also ached. I havent checked out the NXT spikeless yet, will give them a try soon. Thanks for checking out the video.

When you can get ECCO shoes for the same price if not cheaper, it's a no brainer. Looks classy though

Will these crease over time? Or do these retain their shape nicely?

Can I use these as sneakers/dress shoes? Or will that damage the bottom?

    • @davidpaingolf7748
      @davidpaingolf7748  2 роки тому +2

Hey - it wouldn’t damage the bottom, it is rubber so may be a little slippy. They work fine as shoes for everyday use. I give golf lessons in them etc.
