@@ManWalksDogs I live in Chicago and all outside activities yesterday were canceled (concerts, events, etc) which will probably be this whole week. If it's like this in Whistler in a month I wouldn't be surprised if it's canceled. Hopefully they just reschedule.

@@ManWalksDogs No problem. The Canadian government has maps available online with were the fires are. One of the worst places is pretty close to Whistler but we'll see what happens in the next month.
My little girl and I love watching crankworx and the downhill world series. Maybe not next year but the year after I'm hoping to take us to Joyride.

Been watching your competitions for awhile. In poker, the donkey never consistently wins because they're too reckless for too long. You absolutely have the skills, but knowing your limits is necessary to both your success and survival. If you REALLY want that podium bad enough, you'll realize that fourth is ALWAYS better than a DNF. Like all aspects of biking, there is muscle memory for finishing and for podiums and for being the kind of bad-ass that makes Sam Pilgrim want to be your videographer. Be that bad-ass.

there is no dnf, crashed runs still get points that qualify for the next round, so going bigger gives you more opportunity for bigger points
why accept 4th when you know you're capable of pushing for another podium?
My point being THE MORE YOU WIN THE EASIER IT GETS, a la Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, et al. If you think crashing is somehow better than NOT crashing & placing, that's on you, bub.

placing is 1,2,3 and in order to get that podium spot you have to push, as isted, bringer, hoopy, godziek & (fedko + rogatkin when they're contesting) do - with emil eating up most firsts, obvs - - - so you cant place without pushing.

@@ManWalksDogs i think his attitude is not sustainable. Ben boyko said you have to be 60% business man if you want to survive in the pro athlete business…swearing and drinking alcohol (except champagner on the podium) is never good for business. Especially nowdays😂

Bad for business how? He's a solo pro athlete with sponsors getting on board. This is an extreme sport that matches the beers and no-fucks attitude & lifestyle. No-one is pulling their sponsorship because Tom downed his pint whilst Rob asked his question!
