These ladies come from an era of music where you HAD to have a true voice and deliver vocals in an extraordinary way. This is a musical masterpiece ! Bravo !!!
Was blessed to have seen them live in the 70’s….their vocal harmonies were then are forever imprinted on my soul. Not a dry eye in the house every time I hear ‘If and When’ and ‘When Will I See You Again’. Grace, elegance and astounding vocals ❤
Me to and I had the honor of Fayette Pinkney singing at my grandfather's funeral years ago and her being a dear friend of my mother's, the family, and of course me. I love her and Valerie, and of course Shelia,Very intelligent intellectual and classy ladies, RIP Auntie Faye🎉😇🙏💔😔
That crescendo, POWERFUL! What a memorizing song, sang from deep within. These girls today couldn't touch them if they tried because The Three Degrees sing from deep within with soul and passion from the heart,Oh and they didn't have to join the illuminati or selll their soul to get fame and fortune.Classy not trashy like today. Bravo,Bravo💯💣💥👏👏👏👏
Same!!! I saw it on twitter a few days ago and now I cannnot stop listening to their ballads!!! And this song has been on repeat... the 7 minute version
Take a listen to: Whitney's, Just the Lonely Talking Again; Me'lisa Morgan's, Do You Still Love Me; MTUME's, Body and Soul; and Rena Scott's, If I Had a Chance.
The Three Degrees had a perfect combination of vocals and performance skills. My dear friend Sheila is still doing her thing in the UK. Looking forward to catching up with her soon.
Yes, she is one of a kind. Great talent from a wonderful person. God bless her with many, many more years to share herself with the world! 🙏🙏🏻🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏿💕🎵🎶❤️
I am so ashamed to say that I've been sleeping on the Three Degrees. These ladies are incredible. Not only beautiful and classy, but I love the harmonizing of this group of ladies. Songbirds I tell you, that's what they sound like.
OMG! These women are awesome. I didn't know. They are underrated to the highest. And that orchestra is extraordinary. Motown ladies aint got nothing on them. Classy, pretty and their voices are out of this world. Dont get me wrong, The highest respect to my Motown girls but this here. I am in Awe.
Lol, you say The Motown ladies ain't got nothing on the Three Degrees ? How about The Supremes has 12 #1 records only 2nd to The Beatles. How many # 1 records does The Three Degrees have?
@@teranceharris1134 True but they don't have one song like this one. Diana has a few that come close. Though listening to the song the Supremes would do it justice too but they don't have any songs like this in their catalog. The album version is longer with more riffing and prominent background vocals.
@@teranceharris1134 You can't always measure talent in record sales. I agree with the original post, these ladies are much better than the Supremes. And I don't care how many records the Supremes sold or number one records they had.
These comments are priceless and accurate The The Three Degrees are excellent there Vocalists skills etc they are the whole Package sincerely !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I couldn’t get this song out of my head from the moment I heard it. The melody play they do at the end is gorgeous and gives me goosebumps every single time!
I know what you mean! 😊 I only just heard this song about 3 weeks ago. I play the video and sing it all the time! It's ADDICTIVE!! "THEY" were the best female harmonizing group ever!! 🎼🎶🎵🎶🎵 🎻🎺🎹
I didn't realize they had so many good songs. For years I thought they were One-hit wonders with "When will I see you Again?". Boy, am I surprised at their range and accomplishments!
This song provoked such high emotions which were brought forth in their performance. These ladies had the IT factor, even though they did have some success i don't think it was close to what they deserved. I think it had a lot to do with timing. During the 70's girl groups were on the way out and disco was in. They all are still performing with the exception of Fayette, she passed away in 2009.
The Album version is about 2minutes longer, because the breakdown is longer. It's definitely worth a listen. And the background singing is more prominent. I don't know how I missed this song from back in the day. I didn't find it until about 3yrs ago. And found it only because I looked up Bunny Sigler. He's written some of the best slow jams, The O'Jays and Patti Labelle for instance.
No doubt, I AGREE, !! I just happened to "come across this song" just 3 weeks ago" and I play it and sing it NON STOP! It's DEEP and INTENSE! Full of "FIRE" 🔥
i'm brazilian but i have to say: the best female trio in the world and of all times! Sheila is spectacular, perfect, the most beautiful woman in the world!

I was impressed those days, and I surely still am today impressed about the Three Degrees and their amazing talents. Thank you Baby Ruth for sharing.
Was 13 and at boarding-school, when I first heard this dazzling lament to lost-love, though I was still to experience any of that myself. I'd the cassette of the album and the studio version is about 7 minutes of breathtaking heartbreak. I've played it many times as an adult to exorcise the ache of a failed love, aye! Spectacular song, but the studio version is THE bomb! .

This is a great album from the early 70's. Takes me back to the club days. Strong voices and beautiful harmonies. One of my top 3 female acts, The SUPREMES and Love Unlimited are the other two.
