    I was thinking of the same idea. You helped glue some pieces together. Thanks for the video and keep grinding coach!

    I had a simiar epiphany with this formations of this offense a few years ago. The next unlock I had mentally, was changing the calling the strength of my offense to the WR strength rather than always to the Y. For example, DEUCE RIGHT is the same as how you described, whereas DEUCE ROVER has the X and the Y swap sides with eachother. Where this really takes off, is now instead of calling a 3 wide formation DOUBLES RIGHT SLOT like I used too. Now I can just call TRIPS LASSO (Not to mention it just makes more sense in my brain to have TRIPS be in the call). Anyway, have been loving your stuff, keep it up

      Yeah, I originally thought it weird to always call it to the Y when the strength of the formation might be away, but I just got used to it because it tells everyone where to go. The base formations I would use, the Y and Z go to the call, X goes away, and the formation itself tells the F where to go. The part I’ll have to get used to is in a formation like Deuce Open that I want to treat as 11P 2x2, calling that strength away from the “tight end” will be strange at first.

    We do something similar at our HS, where we have our “F” get a number, and the other skills get a word. So “6 Robbie” or “9 Robbie” means the same thing for 3 skills, and the “F” listens to the number. typically we use 6-9 but there’s 2-5, 10, 11 too.

      I coached in a middle school offense where we did that, and it was really good for us. The number talked to the “F” in addition to setting the strength. Certain formations had players together, and they would go to or away from the number we gave the “F.”

    I ve been looking over your offense and I like it. How would you organize and structure your pass offense and play calls

      I have a CoachTube course out on that, which can be found here: coachtube.com/course/football/shanahan-mcvay-offense-part-5-quick-game-drop-back-passing-concepts/18304566
      Philosophically, I like multi-purpose / "good vs any coverage" concepts as a base that keep a similar progression for the QB in terms of the spaces he is looking for his receivers. Right now, I have my drop back concepts such that each receiver has a specific route no matter what the formation is, and my quick game is based off of what number receiver they are, counting from the play-side to the back-side.

    How would you run the pass game in high school. would it be all from the gun and some from under or would it depends on the type of qb you have

    • @WideZoneWarriors
      @WideZoneWarriors  6 місяців тому

      Some gun, some under center. Mostly drop back from gun and quick game from under center to keep a consistent 3 step drop for the QB. Could do both quicks and drop backs from under center or the gun, but I like that timing for the QB. Play actions would also be more from under center for better run fakes.

      @@WideZoneWarriors I was thinking the same thing and taking in consideration of the qb. If you dont mind what, would be the base dropback concepts

      @@michaelrobinson8382 Y Cross and Mesh. Two concepts that are good vs almost any coverage because I plan on doing more runs and play actions than true passing

    Please do something to increase the volume of your videos. I love them but can never hear you. I put tv volume on 35-40 and most videos are on 16.

      @@WideZoneWarriors You sound like you are intentionally speaking quietly as to not disturb someone sleeping in the room. If you are naturally soft spoken then yes, you should probably turn up the recording volume. Thanks.
