  • This is a viewer request and my pleasure to take a run through of the Land Rover Series 1 80" on my channel. This is the vehicle I spent many years rebuilding it. So sit back and relax as I walk around the car and explain most of the things on the car. I did not get underneath, but if you have any questions on the car and what was done, please comment below.
The product I have been sent is a lovely new toy to use for filming. I hope the sound quality improves with this. If you like what you hear then you can get one at this link. amzn.to/2YQIiFl

The battery box was by Neil Taylor off LRSOC. I only replaced the base, the rest is original

It has been driven a fair amount, but with a number of changes it has unfortunately sat for a while and will probably go up for sale in the future. Purely as it needs someone who can drive it more regularly

No problem at all, I need to find the time to finish off the videos. It was quite late that I decided to video stuff and so some of the content is not as detailed as it could be.
Still I am glad you found this useful

Excellent preservation, labour of love and condition. A fun vehicle, a decent chassis, but lovely patina on the bodywork, retaining the history and the story. As you say, a fully restored 1950's Landie looks like just any other fully restored 1950's Landie. (And if you're not careful you can end up with the irony having an off-road vehicle that is in too good a condition to off-road!) But here you've retained her distinctive character. Kudos. Kind regards.

Thank you kindly, it certainly has taken plenty of time, nearly destroyed me, but it was all worth it! I really want to take it off road as it is not the best on road vehicle!

Thank you for the upload, the microphone quality is a great sign of professionalism on the likes of UA-camrs with over 100k subscribers. When do you think you will finish with the project (everything finished)?

Thank you for the comment, yes increasing quality when one can makes a difference to what people will watch. I have to admit moving around and talking is not easy as I tend to look at the vehicle and not what I am recording...so many takes and edits!
Good question, I have so many things on, just finishing a couple of things ends up taking time! I have to vacate the building I am in so first priority is to get the Mini running so everything can be moved, then I will have time to consider the final bits. Part of the challenge is waiting for the right parts to turn up, like with the windscreen rest, do I just fit the canvas or wait for the correct rest to be available? With a few things I am waiting for parts to be a)available and b) affordable!

Where the tailgate corners split, i mig welded there, so people dont notice but my tailgate is stronger at the corners

A good alternative, I am certainly not one to worry about repairs. I will have to see if my welder friend can do that for me...still one skill I have not got into yet, but want to!

There is 5 pin amphenol plug tnat vits in place of the original tow plug.
Hard to notice the difference. Thats my plan, so when the cap is on, you cant see
    The difference

Steven Turner, it is the 1595 or commonly 1.6L engine. It is original for the vehicle, but not the engine that came in the vehicle.
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoy the videos.

Indeed, but then it is an old vehicle so one cannot expect perfection! I am happy with the overall look, but yes they could be better
