Straight from Jabra: There IS a difference between call quality and recorded quality of the earbuds. If you are simply using a recording app for your sound samples, the earbuds are not activating their noise canceling mics. For instance, the 7 Pro's have a bone conduction mic that activates during phone calls and can sound muffled if not connecting with the jaw properly. The Elite 5's have a non bone conductive mic to help with noise canceling. A break down of the different types are as follows: 75t, 75t Active, and 85t = No Active Noise Canceling Mics. The 7 Pro, 4, 4 active, 3, and 2 = Bone Conduction Mic that can cause muffled voice during calls. 7 Active = No Active Noise Canceling Mics. and lastly the new Elite 5 has an internal non-bone conductive mic for noise canceling during phone calls. The 5 is a new type of mic because they were getting complaints about the bone mic issues in the 7. It also costs less for the new mic.
I can attest to call (mic) quality issues with the 7 pro bone conduction based product. It was utterly unusable for calls whilst driving. Premium price, disappointing result.

You know when your line of earphones becomes so saturated and indistinguishable from one another that it's time to take a step back and really change up the design/features. I used to be extremely happy when a new Jabra earphone was announces but now this is as common as Nick Cannon having another child.
To improve your windy place testing, you would need to stay *IN FRONT* of the fan. If you look closely, whenever you talk you shift it to the side and it doesn't affect your voice like wind would IRL.
Jabra Elite 85t is still the best with its semi-open construction and ANC chipset.

@@aaronloudnwireless Question: ARE these actual phone calls, or are they just recordings from an app? As I stated in my earlier comment, some Jabras turn on extra noise canceling mics when specifically making phone calls that are not turned on when simply using a recording app. If it's just an app, then we are not getting a true representation of the call qualities.
What about against the 85t?
I bought 2 brand new Jabra Elite 5s and the Google hotword feature is a pretty plus although there is a widespread software issue here present on both pairs where when Google Assistant is selected as the Voice Assistant, the right earbud's triple press won't perform its assigned action (I've assigned it to Sound Modes). If the Voice Assistant is changed to Android default or Alexa, the triple press action works! This is clearly a software issue. I already tried to reset and re-paired both of the Elite 5s that I got, including reinstalling the Jabra app but the issue of the right bud's triple press not performing its assigned action is still there. It's only evident when I designate Google as my assistant, otherwise, the controls work on both or either bud regardless of what actions I assign. Is this the same for everybody? Also, Google assistant press and hold function is locked on the right earbud when activated so it cannot be designated to the left (fyi). Otherwise, the user can just speak to activate the assistant. P.s. I contacted Jabra yesterday via Instagram and phone and they are not aware of this issue, they told me that they are raising this with their Product Development Team. What a bummer for a newly released product, may not be worth hyping this Elite 5s until they fix the issue via a firmware update. I hope this info helps others to not waste their money if they are thinking about getting these Elite 5s.

Man is it just me or the lower jabras sound much better…..the flagships have too much static noise….
I have the elite 7 pro and nothing ear 1, the latter is waaay better.

I've got among others Jabra Elite 4 Active and Jabra Elite 5. Elite 5 is a TOP (with one major flaw) - absolutely best battery, great for listening podcasts, fantastic microphone quality (while talking no one ever is complaining). BUT there's a FLAW - HORRIBLE MUSIC quality in comparison yo Elite 4 Active... and if you compare it to Sony Linkbuds S (horrible battery life) it is absolutely unimaginable - Jabra Elite 5 is now being sold as Jabra Connect 5T - headphones designed for conversations - and this I agree with, but listening to the music - horrible horrible experience... almost as bad as Samsung Buds 2 (non-Pro version).
ANC in any Jabra is a joke - I barely ever use it - but to be fair - isolation is great so nothing to complain. Transparency mode isn't as good as in Sony Linkbuds S and surely not like in Samsung Buds S (IMO best transparency in general), but there are no cracks or knocks (like in Huawei) so I guess it's OK.
Generally I use Sony Linkbuds S to listening music, while walking, jogging, etc... Jabra Elite 4 Active when going somewhere on a trip (those are best compromise - good enough battery, great sound, rather OK talking experience). Elite 5 to talk and listen podcasts and Buds2 when in crowded place and there's need for clear transparency (although listening music on Buds 2 is a horrible experience).

None of them sound too great to me. I own both Elite 7 Pro and Huawei Freebuds Pro 2 and the latter blows Jabra out of the water in terms of the call quality.
Agreed but so many buds are better than the Freebuds Pro
Sadly freebuds Pro is a little weak in other areas so not worth considering

I own 7 pro, 85t and 75t. the 7 pro sounds muffled and sometimes almost impossible for the other side of the line to understand in a noisy condition like 'inside car'. 50% of the time, people complain of poor call quality. Then I have to say sorry, which makes 7 pro useless.
I guess it is the combo of poor sound pick-up and (too) aggressive background noise canceling. It is a shame.
In terms of call quality, the 75t is much better even if they cancel background noise less.
I actually think all of them are failing to deal with the background noise. The 7 pro cancels even the voice while the others fail to cancel the noise. The latter is better in this case.
According to an extensive review, the recently launched buds 2 pro from Samsung seems to be the best in class in terms of call quality. Please review them if possible.
