I didn't think we'd get to hear the sounds as it touched down. Glad there was no music and a break in other aircraft. Awesome show.

I remember seeing Bob Hoover do his routine in the Shrike Commander .....did a whole routine under power then repeated it with the engines off....then landed dead stick and taxied back to his parking spot without ever turning the engines back on....

HUMBERTO MONTEIRO , It does not. There's another video that shows it, but not this one. No big deal though. Still an awesome video.

Remind me again why the "shock cooling" myth persists? Wonderful aerobatics showing just how capable aviation piston engines are.

How does it work doing aerobatics in non aerobatic aircraft? Do they need to register the aircraft as experimental or something ?

I met Mr Hoover once, asked him the same question, he said its a stock airframe and his maneuvers were in the 2 G range all the time

Very impressive flying. Please please don't try this at home. You really need a great understanding of aviation to pull this off. Training and expert feeling and knowledge allows this stunt to work.

Beautiful aircraft and amazing performance, but it proves that Americans must be dead bored for life (and with aviation this boredom dates back to its very roots, in the 1920s with those wing walkers and such ridiculous and absurdly and unnecessary risky stuff), not knowing what to do to have some fun if it´s not playing with fire. And then they lament it when tragedy strikes.

I used to fly like this until I took some training.
