Awesome techniques. Now when braiding my "own" hair, how do I make sure I'm not pulling my "fragile" edges as I think I get nervous on the side and, just grip it and start braiding? Will start slowing down as you are very delicate on her edges! 👍❤
I love the way you work I love your braids they are beautiful neat keep up the good work you're one of the best I've seen in a long time on here in a long time absolutely beautiful
You did a beautiful job. I also have very thin edges and my concern is always any tension on my edges. I tell my braider not to even touch my thin edges when she braids. Are you not concerned the tension from the braid will cause more damage to her edges? I didn't see you pulling or tugging on her hair at all but just by the act of adding the braids you apply tension. Again, beautiful job and technique.
Thank you so much for watching and your kind words 💛 Although it is not my recommendation to add hair to hair that is recurring from damage, this wasn’t the case. I was told by her that it was hereditary. Her mother also has thin edges (I braided her hair prior to the 2nd closing) so I most certainly believed her. In that case, honestly all install, I add hair according to the density of that section I am currently braiding. If there will be a huge difference I go ahead and let them know and/or recommend a different style or even to wait sometimes. I know all of that information from the mandatory consultation prior to booking an appointment. I also give maintenance and styling tips at the end of each service according to their natural hair and scalp. Thank you for your question. I hope I’m able to answer many people 🤗💛
@@resemblemebyrobyn this was my 2nd question. Lord help me doing my own braiding as I pray that I won't be the one damaging my own scalp. Also, these styles are GOOD or BAD when wanting to pull the hair BACK in a ponytail? You have been very helpful!👍
I'm having some.medium knotless braids installed and I was curious if should smaller parts in the front for my thin edges or just medium parts as usual? What would you suggest?
OUTSTANDING!! I was wondering if the hair (extension hair) would slip...given the use of gel/grease and also the fact that YOUR (the client) hair is very short and thin and challenging to grip. Would the braids slip and the extension hair just slide off YOUR hair?? Like in a couple days. From friction from sleeping? You are incredibly talented and your work impeccable!! Thank you for sharing. I hope you find the time to reply to my question. Blessings. ❤
I would say gel instead of grease. Grease is slippery. Gel is a bit thicker and tackier. As long as you have a firm (not tight) grip and your braid is consistent it should be just fine. Be careful on the size of braids you install for short hair. The smaller the better. Thank you so much for watching Jackie! I hope my response helps 💛
@@resemblemebyrobyn Thank YOU Rah!!!! Your answer helps me tremendously!! I completely understand what you're telling me!! You're wonderful!! Blessings ❤
She shouldn’t be requesting tight braids on her thin edges. They will be none existent in 6 months. I don’t understand why stylist don’t recommend against this to their clients.
Nope. Don’t do it. My hair has fine edges as well and the weight and stress of that hair is going to make her hair come out. Believe me. It happened to me.
I want to get my hair braided but EVERYONE I have seen with braids has PULLED hair just like this. I DON'T WANT MY HAIR PULLED ..but all braiders appear to PULL. Growing up my grandmother and my mother did NOT braid this tight like this generation!!!
Believe non of what you “hear” and half of what you “see” until you’ve experienced being in my chair. Clients are always warned about the possibilities and sometimes don’t care. Which is why I braid the way I do. Securing the braid is different from “PULLING” Edge parts whether you have thin edges like the client in the video or full edges always have bigger parts and less hair added to the edge sections as opposed to the rest of the hair.
I love how you swoop the edges into the braid instead of braiding on the hairline because other stylists always snatching the edges 🤣!
Never over here 💕
Here 3 years after your post! Just want to say I love how gentle you were with her hair!
Thank you so much ☺️

Exactly. I had knotless braids for 6 weeks and my hair came out at the edges. My edges are fine just like hers.
