Fernan, I have a challenge for you: I’m using the field parameter para switch the time series of my visuals between Year and Fiscal Week. I want to keep X axis sorted by the time series (not by the values) in ascending order. However, every time I switch the field, the X axis is sorted back by the values. It’s driving me crazy!!!
@@manuelsandner942 , I didn’t find a solution but I found a turnaround. If you keep the X-axis as categorical instead of continuous it keeps the sort the way you want.
If you are using a table/matrix you can add the original value eg sales $ and colour it white take off wrap put in trillions and make those columns tiny@@TayuanRebelo
Hi Fernan, I didn't quite get it, why not just unselected "Blank" in the filter area for Top 10 customers/products? Why we still need to create another measure to exclude the column with Blank name?
Thank you for the amazing video. If I want to add what if parameters(for eg, cost, price, disc%) to this, how do I adjust the dynamic axes. Could you please help on this?
Hi fernan, thanks for you videos, I have one query, that how we can select dynamic and static date on the selection of slicer, Example I have one slicer having value (year, month, quarter and date ) and second slicer ( dynamic and static) If I select dynamic from second slicer and month from first slicer then sales should show for 30 days window and if I select static then it should show actual month wise sales
HELLO FIRSTLY THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO .. actually i am trying to use both measure table where there is sales, cost, quatity and categories parameter where is categories, customers, product bt its not syncing please help me out
Great trick! I just replicated to my report =)nice!! Question, is there any possibility to change those position number at the end of parameter measure automatically? I can imagine if there are like 10-15 but what about 50+? Anytime you need to change the order of them... I can think of Power Query, where you can import all of your measures from Parameters and there sorting using Index and then copy it back to Power BI...
Hi there, thanks for watching my video! Sorry I'm not sure I fully understood this question here so I will answer what I think you mean. So I create a separate sorting table to manually control how they're displayed but if you're looking to slice your data in 50+ ways I dont think I've ever implemented something like this. It won't be automatic but you'll just need to create a separate table with the orders you're looking for
Hello fernan can you make a video on the same secenario but I need to create pramters for 3 fiscal years state fiscal year, fedaral fiscal year, calendar year please help me with this I'm following 3 parameters because different states in usa follows diffrent months for fiscal year I hope you will post a video on this secenario
one drawback is you can't adjust number of digits after comma for those measures from field to be shown differently on the visual... Does anybody know how to do it?
Power Bi is to Tableau what Apple is to Android. Cant believe it took this long to get this functionality. Thanks for the tip!
Great video !! I was looking for a way to do the filtering on a table with field parameters in it for hours before finding your video, thank you !!
Thank you Fernan. This is the best video I've seen on Field Parameters.
Great video! I can create multiple charts in one and switch between them using a parameter.
This is amazing! Thank you Fernan! Can wait to try it out!
Excellent, Thanks 👍
Great work here! Are you able to add previous day, previous quarter and previous year to the slicer parameters? Thanks 🙏🏾

Hi fernan, thanks for you videos,
I have one query, that how we can select dynamic and static date on the selection of slicer,

If I select dynamic from second slicer and month from first slicer then sales should show for 30 days window and if I select static then it should show actual month wise sales
Can it be possible to have this but instead of changing the X-Axis with a slicer, have it be changed depending on another Bar Chart selection?
But I have a problem, how i can make color condiction with parameter.
Very good Fernan
Nice touch!
can we do same thing changing x axis for direct query of sap hana data source
@please help me
Thanks for the video. I have a question. Can we use Field Parameters to a line graph with multiple lines?
