    Hey Juanelo!!
    Hope you and Ms Lulu had a great Monday!
    Laurie and I tried the fish quesadillas tonight! In fact, Laurie was wondering if we would have a Juanelo recipe tonight.
    The fish quesadillas were EXCELLENT!!! We absolutely endorse this recipe. I made an extra one for a Juanelo fan at work.
    Thank you for sharing these wonderful low carb recipes.
    Mark

      Hi Mark! Alright! Yay!!! Woo whoo!!! I'm totally delighted this quesadilla recipe worked for you and Laurie! What kind of fish did you use? Tilapia? The news makes my week! I wish I could take full credit, but I just was doggone lucky to find the recipe on the internet. Thanks so much for watching the show and for the great feedback my friend! All the best to you and Laurie!

      Yes, we used Telapia because it was easy to pick up on the way home from work. I'm hoping to hit the lake in a couple of weeks with the goal of catching bass and pan fish. Like you, it is fun to catch the local ingredients. :)

      Tilapia are mild, similar to bass in my mind anyway! LOL! Good choice! Thanks for letting me know!

    John, I must admit Lake K was on fire in Mid-May, much like several of the waters I found around this area of Missouri. Your pool looked full and water color was excellent. Oh, that popper will be floating around somewhere after the bass eventually shakes it loose. Of course I noticed your (wise) choice of the TRD. Some may wonder why I keep using so many Z-Man lures and of course the reason is how well they work. Those were some really nice crappie and your 15+ was beautiful! They are stunning when they get to that size. My largest one ever (mounted on my wall) was 16" and 2 lb 8 oz certified by the taxidermist. Lorraine caught her PB one almost the same size last year from a small pond we were fishing near the rifle range. I wasn't filming but have the beast on photos! Oh, my those quesadillas really looked good! I never thought about making something like that but your combination of ingredients and spices and cheese passed the Miss Lulu critique with flying colors. Speaking of Miss Lulu, her new interpretation of the "Teach a Man to Fish" axiom was....well....accurate! Ha, ha, ha, what a great closer. Excellent show, 5 Stars. All the best from Jefferson City. Don, Brenda & Lorraine

    • @Juanelo1946
      @Juanelo1946  6 років тому

      Hi Don! Yes, Lake K was readily surrendering its bounty a few weeks ago. Lately though, it's been a bit more reluctant as the water nears summertime temperatures, but we'll soldier on. Congratulations on your amazing 16 inch wall-mount crappie! WOW! That boggles my mind. I can't even imagine a crappie so immense. And to think Lorraine just about matched your feat... double wow! Fish quesadillas sounded weird, until I did some searching and found this recipe. And, I'm so glad I did! They were delish! Ms. Lulu gobbled them up with joy. I don't think she ever heard that old axiom, "give a man a fish...", judging by her answer. But come to think of it, her words are more accurate than the original maxim, as you noted! LOL! As always, thanks so much for visiting us and for leaving the great comment my friend. All the best to you, Brenda, and sister, Lorraine! - - John & Jeanne!

I'm so lazy though... Someone else here suggested serving these quesadillas with Spanish rice. I could do that with cauliflower! Ms. Lulu is wearing that same necklace right now. Forgive me for being a pest, but those 'nests' interest me. Do the fish gather some sort of material and create an actual nest? Or do they cluster together (for whatever reason?) and the cluster gives the appearance of a nest? (:

      Hi Rus! Wasn't that a monster crappie? Do they call them sac-a-laite down there in your part of Mississippi? The quesadillas were amazingly tasty. I wish I could take full credit, but I was just lucky to find a great recipe on the internet! No, she didn't teach me to fish. But she sends flowers to the guy who did, on his birthday every year. Your loooooong casts with light lures always amaze me! I'm relatively new to baitcasters (been using them a few years), and I just can't make it work for me like that. I'm using a 6'2" medium fast with a "middle of the road" reel, and 12#braid.... Do I just need more practice?

    • @Juanelo1946
      @Juanelo1946  6 років тому +2

      Hi Daddy! I use very light line, and my reel is about the lightest made (it's been discontinued). I adjust the bait to just barely drop when I turn the adjusting knob, no looser, no tighter. I aim at the sky (45°) above the target and let the lure kind of just drop to the target. I keep my thumb just touching the spool as the line goes out, and clamp down before the lure gets to the target. Yes! All you need is a bit more practice! You can do it! Thanks so much for watching the show and for the good comment my friend!

      Juanelo1946 Im using 4# diameter braid, and use a very similar method... Do i need to increase the line distance between the rod tip and the lure maybe? Or maybe my magnets are set to high? You'll find out that making videos and gaining a large viewership brings up obligations of mutual video watching and commenting on videos of hundreds of other UA-cam friends who watch and comment on yours. Hi LL! I don't have anything to sell anyone. I'm sorry. However, you can get a cap just like mine if you click on the link in the description box notes. I don't make anything from it, but I use the company for my caps. In fact, they can make you a cap with Latte's Bait & Tackle on it! I love saying "pecorino Rrrrrrromano!" LOL!! Yes! Even Parmigiano Rrrrrrregiano is fun! And of course, what could be better than asking for and getting that hug? 🤗 Thanks so much for watching the show and for the great comment my friend!

    Juanelo, you've got some cool videos and some great casting skills too. I'm in NE Ohio too, with a boat on lake Erie. Why don't you come out and catch some walleyes for your next recipe. I bet Ms Lulu would love some walleye fillets.

      Hi LEDFLY!! I love fishing for walleye and smallmouth bass on Lake Erie! I used to do it regularly, but it's been a few years. Hauling camera equipment like tripods and battery chargers is a big sticking point. I'm getting too old for this! LOL! But I might go, sans camera! Thanks so much for the visit and especially the kind words my friend!

    Hey ol buddy! If you think about it sometime I would like to know how much the big crappies weigh....I never knew they grew that big in the north....the quesadillas looked great! You are a good a cook as you are a fisherman! Hi Ms. Lulu!

    • @Juanelo1946
      @Juanelo1946  6 років тому

      Hi Duke! I didn't know a crappie could grow this big up here either, until I measured it! Goodness, I was shocked! If I follow a recipe closely enough, it can sometimes turn out delish, like it did here! Thanks so much for watching the show and for the great comment my friend! Ms. Lulu joins me in wishing you, Mrs. Gitter, and The Gang, all the best!

      Yes! You're right, Duke! The state record for black crappie is 18.5 inches. It's going to be very hard to top that, but I'll keep trying, just like I do with Ms. Cheeks. The real trophy is her! 😉

      Hi again William! I don't know why the crappie get so big in this pond, but I can't complain. You pretty much stated the reason that we bought this place! It offered a great getaway for fishing and cooking on weekends. You can do it too! Save up those pennies! The fishing will come on strong next month. I know you'll do well! Good luck to you! Thanks again for stopping by my friend!

    Wow! So many fish! Congratulations on those huge crappies! I know they aren't your favorite for eating but they are still very cool! Keep trying with Ms. Cheeks! You'll get her one day, at the very least she seems to love your cooking! Hehe! *wink*

    Again another great video. Those were two monster Crappie for sure. You have the best youtube channel in the world IMHO. I am very picky & choosy when it comes to subscribing. I have only over the years subscribed to 7 or 8 channels & if I had to choose to only keep one. Yours would be it.

      Hi tony! Sometimes while I'm fishing, I'll experience a long dry spell. I think, "I'm never going to get enough for this recipe. Maybe I'll change the video to title to "Getting Skunked and Ordering Pizza." Really, I just never know if I'll get enough. I consider myself LUCKY! Hi Juanelo I’ve been following you for some time now and love your channel. My buddy’s and I will often put your videos on just to listen to the commentary on our ways to go fishing. To the point though. Every year I make the drive from California to Pennsylvania in September, stopping to fish and meet new people along the way. Though you’re not technically on my route, if you would ever consider having a guest come fishing, I would love too, and wouldn’t mind the extra miles not one bit. I am actively filling my calendar for the trip coming the first week of September and if you’d even maybe consider it, I’d love to come fish with you. I will be on the road posting the journey along the way fishing all new to me ponds, lakes, and rivers and would love to add your pond to my list. Not just for the joy it would bring but to rub in that I fished with Juanelo to my fishing buddys. I hope this is something you can consider and I look forward to talking more about it soon.

      Hi Steller! Aw, man you and your buddies are too kind! The problem is that 30 years ago our family made a rule that we would enjoy our little abode by the pond alone. It's not our home, it's a weekend getaway. Saturday at "the farm" was designated our alone time, a time where we could relax and do nothing, or just make goofy videos and not worry about the outside world. We have only shared our getaway with our close family. Another consideration is that I get several requests to visit and fish here every week. All are from very nice people like you. If I say yes to one, then I should say yes to all... well you know. I sure hope you will understand. Thanks so much for watching our videos. I so appreciate your support and your kindness! All the best to you!

    How did the "Baitstealers" get out of my lake and into yours so quickly? Maybe that last storm we had created some sort of a surge that they all rode in on (Crappie are smart like that!).😆
    Those quesadillas look amazing... Bet they tasted equally amazing, too!

      Hi Dan! We must put a stop to your fish meandering over to my lake! They're invasive species, and thieves! Now I have to get a new lure the next time I'm at Walmart! 😝 You would love the quesadillas though! Fishy, cheesy, and ooey gooey delicious! Thanks so much for watching the show and for the great comment my friend!
