First, I must tell you that I am a Lady Antebellum - Need You Now snob. Tonight I came across Chris Mann for the first time. I've been sampling assorted recordings but kept passing up this version of Need You Now (because 1: most covers don't hold a candle to the original, and 2: the original was a duet and I didn't think it could possibly work with one vocalist ). I finally decided to give it a try since I was enjoying other Chris Mann music, especially after hearing the extraordinary version of Hallelujah (I am also a Hallelujah snob). I'm SO glad I gave it a chance! It is a fabulous rendition of Need You Now, I could easily listen to it repeatedly for hours!

But, mostly, if the new artist can't 'ADD' something MORE, something SPECIAL, something UNIQUELY GREAT, I don't care for covers. But...WOW! WOW!! WOW!!! YOU did this and made it your own!!! What an absolutely GORGEOUS rendition!!! Oh my! You gave me chills! (In the BEST of ways!) It takes a LOT for ANYBODY'S cover of ANYBODY ELSE'S song to impress me! (Except in rare instances such a Michael Bolton...he can sing practically anyone's music!Saw him in concert last year! He's still awesome!) But...YOU bowled me over! I need to OWN this! (I do NOT 'stream' music! I have to buy TANGIBLE music I can hold in my hands & add to my ever growing, HUGE collection of VINYL...and CDs where VINYL isn't available...I need to SEE & admire the cover art & read EVERY word of the liner notes & credits!) I certainly HOPE you have CDs or VINYL out there! I'll be checking into buying EVERYTHING you have recorded thus far! You are my newest, favorite male singer! Don't worry...unlike my 30-year-old son who treats music as 'disposable' once it's no longer CURRENT, once I love an artist or song, I love them FOREVER! (So when I eventually discover another artist, I'll still be loving YOUR music too!) I've been going to concerts the last 3 years to see artists I fell in love with from the age of 3 thru junior high school! Three Dog Night, Cher(twice!), Cheap Trick(3 times! Fell in love with them in 7th grade!) and Kiss' 'End of the Road World Tour'! (Loved them since 6th grade!) So...now that I LOVE your voice & music (and great sense of humor which led me to discover your voice in the first place with your coronavirus parodies!), I'll love you forever & make sure all my music friends check you out too! He is playing The Phantom Of The Opera currently, I saw him on opening night where I live. It's a touring show, and as me and my mom were leaving, we walked past the stage entrance door, and out walked this very tall man with a Phantom shirt on and I was trying to figure out who he played and me and my mom kept turning our heads and we got home and looked up Chris Mann and it was him! we were face to face with Chris's Mann and didn't know until like 30 minutes later. and we were so upset that we didn't say anything:/ we still are.
