Thank you very much for this video.. I had been waiting for this four pawn attack for a long time..but my expected variatipn is missing. Kindly cover the below variation. 1. d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3. Nc3 Bg7 4. e5 d6 5. f4 0-0 6. Nf3 e5 at this point, instead of fxe5, how do we proceed if dxe5. Because in many of my games white tries to exchange my queen with this move... @@vinothindrakannan2240 I understand! The reason why we do not go over it in much detail is because white typically wants to fight for an edge since they haver the white pieces and trading queens is not the way to go. If they did, then we just walk into a middlegame that is very comfortable for Black. We just need to outplay them in the middlegame or endgame. My best advise is to do what I explained in this lesson about using the theory feature on lichens and you can see how the game typically continues. Fab videos, quick question, what time control is best for improving in chess, I currently play mostly 15|12 but am thinking I should be doing 30 mins or longer as I would like to eventually play over the board, I am rated 1100 on chess.com and am slowly improving. Hello Tony! That is a great question. So, let's talk about it. Longer time controls (30 minutes or more) allow you to evaluate, plan, and calculate without worrying about running out of time. We need this. Playing blitz does not allow you to do that, but it helps you get comfortable with playing under time pressure. Now, truth is that even if you play a 2-hour game, you might run into time pressure at some point and if you have not trained that, you will blow everything simply because you get nervous. So, like everything in life 😁 we should find a balance to become a more efficient tournament player. I have always performed better when I have a lot of time for my games and after losing so many games in time trouble after hours of play, I started to train my blitz skills too. So, I would recommend playing longer games and little by little incorporate shorter time controls. What I use the most with my students is 15|10 and 5|5. Then, occasionally (and when we are getting ready for tournaments) we play serious time controls (1 hour or more). Hope this answers your question.
