While I feel bad for the red clan, i feel even more bad for Reishi. Tho they have love hate relationship, clearly he doesn't want to kill Mikoto. But Reishi was the only one there who can stop Mikoto. If he didn't kill him, then the Kagutsu tragedy will happen once again 1:40 Also feel bad for Izumo. I'm sure he knew from the very beginning, when Totsuka was murdered, Mikoto will avenge him and that will exceed the limit of his power that will bring Damocles Down and will kill him. But he who's the 2nd in command also understand and want to pay back. In the end he was left alone by the two of them. And he doesn't really show his grief not only because he's oldest in the clan, but also for the sake of the other members

People often say reishi munakata is some low resolution king who just acts all lawful while hiding behind the suit but the reality of his powers are transparent when he fought with kuroh and danced him up as if he is on a ball. And to think mikoto matched with munakata quite splendidly even overpowering him was the coolest. He was like my favourite but the damn author had to kill him down for the grand finale
when a King's vice man level reaches it's limit it becomes to much for the king to control and causes a Damocles down which is when the sword of Damocles drops directly onto it's king dispersing power equivalent to an atomic blast. since mikoto suoh the red king had already reached his limit plus the burden of killing the silver king Adolf. k. Viceman his sword of Damocles would exceed his control and fall like the kagutsu crater. so the blue king reisi munikata in order to maintain control over the situation and prevent a catastrophe took on the burden killing mikoto and dispersing the sword of Damocles. it was the only since mikoto refused to step down as king so he could avenge the death of tatura.
