  • Grandmaster William Cheung demonstrates the key principles of the Traditional Wing Chun System that he learnt from his Master Grandmaster Yip Man. The weakness of the opponents balance, the open targets, the opponents elbow and if he should cross his arms, all present strategic targets to the student of Traditional Wing Chun and should be attacked when the opportunity presents itself. To aid in this Grandmaster Cheung shares some Chi Sao (Sticking Hands) techniques that develop the contact reflexes to enable the Wing Chun practitioner to be able to take advantage of the opponents various weakness at the speed of reflex action. As well as developing the visual reflexes by watching the opponents leading elbow to key the practitioner in on the intended move of the opponent. Also contained in this video is the Bil Jee form and some of its applications. The emphasis being on stabilising the opponent by attacking the balance and steading the target so that a strike can be delivered accurately to the vulnerable target. As always, hope you enjoy the video its one of my favourites! Sifu Dom Békés

I've been watching his seminar for almost 2 hours. Up to now he is the only person made me interested in WC. As a TKD oldschool champ, its not hard for me to learn new techniques but his philosophy and strategy is the key to puck up new skills from WC. Thank you Master.

He's from the south most likely, when he said Wing Tsun was developed by a Nun in Si-Lum Temple that is the southern way of saying Shaolin Temple :) just a slightly different southern dialect of Mandarin Chinese. He is a great and enthusiastic teacher you can see that immediately as he begins teaching.

I remember seeing this Sifu at tournaments. The problem that these MMA or UFC fans attacking Wing Chun is because they do not understand the fundamentals of the style. It works if you take the time to listen and watch William CHEUNG use a lot of trapping techniques and counters. This stuff works and can be used in full contact fighting. It’s all about speed and power in fighting. Once you master this type of style, you will be fast and efficient. Speed kills and a professional boxer would have problems if they have no counter against a really good Wing Chun practitioner.
