Thank you very much for creating this video. I am astonished how good the Rode NT5 sounds.

NT5 or Octavia mk12 are kind of budget standard :)

I was recording mostly Tabla, but also Rav lately only with my NT4, which is basically two NT5 in one, but I was always disappointed by the results. It is just too much missing and always added reverb and bass to the recordings to make it more sound like real. Few days ago I wanted to buy a Rode microphone-arm and saw a nice offer including a Rode NT1-A that I've tried out today, and what can I say: Finally a great microphone that picks up what I'm listening. It's obviously better than the stereo NT4, that's more than 3x the price and both combined a dream, but just for recording two NT1-A would be even better I guess. The NT4 has one nice advantage: With a 9V-block-battery you don't need phantom power and from guessing, the NT4 will be less prone for feedback, but probably still too much to use it for live-performances.

Thanks for the video. C451 is still a favorite of mine, much because of transparency and resolution. Wonder how AKG C414XLII would perform.
