3:10 I fucking love how happy SP is when he's on live, just so naturally my man, just doing it, enjoying the wonderful creation of his own music and playing it to his people
Squarepusher is a true legend :) Switch on your synth and his name is in the patch-list or fx-list guaranteed! He's made so much marvelous stuff he belongs in the hall of fame in electronic music. No doubt about that :)
This is probably the most innovative music around right now. Squarepusher has come up with a new musical language. THIS FUCKIN ROCKS.Just look at how he gets excited at particular moments in the song. Fuckin ace. Long may he continue to innovate. For all you Meatallica heads out there. This guy rules the world.
Timeless masterpiece, one of the best dance tracks ever released that holds against time so well. Balances on the edge of breakcore (that is pushed too far to find moves for imho) and melody, vocal driven traditional IDM (that is too slow, random or boring to dace to in a long run). Well done mr. squarepushaaaa
@jigglesnap ??? i wouldnt really care if was doing nuffin nyway HE made the music so it would be him showing his face basically, its like enjoyin the music with the person who made it. ALSO live performances are usually different in someway
My guess is if 'Different Styles' was ever on release, it would'nt be the same! if you watch carefully,id say that he performs live BY EAR! actually reassembling the track LIVE which is why his live stuff stands out so much. The way 'Mortals' do it is click start using a mouse, then 'Go Crazy' tweakin' wid da Volume!!! fading it in! fading it out! ect,ect,ect...
@quaskx You want a video posted? LOL Maybe when I get back from Ultra 13 I'll have some material to share. BUt, this music is just as danceable as any Jungle, Drum and Bass. IT's a bit faster at times, but, mostly I dance to it at 1/2 pace, not the full 190-220 bpm.
@quaskx AS a person who likes to dance to this music, I say, it's hilarious watching others attempt to dance to this. But, once in a while, you get a person who comes along and can make the sound LOOK good. LOL I'm not always that person, but, more often than not, I'm that person.
@jigglesnap Well, it's all about realtime MIDI, no tricks, no DAT playback... Just check discogs release/55918 'Disc 2 - Alive In Japan. Recorded July 2001 2-4 Do You Know Squarepusher (5:01)' And I really like it more than the studio version :-)
You cannot argue with Tom's groove. It is timeless. He understands that, although the beat calls for 200+, we should hear it as 100+. L()L And sometimes, something else.
@ReeceJackson Uhhhhmmm, they are friends....LOL.....besides, what Richard D. James shared with Tom Jenkinson, Tom Jenkinson took it much further than Richard could have ever taken it. No offense to Richard, he is GREAT in his own right. In fact, if you really listen to both of them, you understand that they both have "similar" but, "different" styles. They sound the same, but, when you "drill" down into it, they are definitely different. That's all I'll say about it.
Haha =] Yeah drugs may suck these days but at least we have more talent. A lot of people like to create now, instead of just outdoing everybody else for the sport of it.
baby listening to squarepusher 🗣️💯🔥
Hard to believe it's 20+ years old, still sounds fresh and futuristic
This guy went to my school! Proud!
