Make a 3-string Panjo by Jimmy Loudermilk

- Who would ever think you could take a couple of guitar parts (tuners-3, guitar strings-3), join that together with a yard sale pie pan, and a few wood cutoffs from your shop, and make a real musical instrument. GWA talked Jimmy Loudermilk away from his music teaching studio (on a Saturday!) to show the audience how to make a 3 string banjo like instrument from a $20 kit he designed and sells.
The handout for this class is available from:

I love people like this! Humble, resourceful, and bringing music to people without breaking their bank.

Don
Thanks for a great instructional video. Got the kit today and it is together.
Great! Post a picture when it's done.
Thx for the links. I have made an order. Stan
I love your products! I bought a heart shaped one :D
Thank you! That will make Jimmy feel good.
The filming could have been a lot better but a very enjoyable and informative video and i especially like the fact you shared the building instructions and how to play the instrument...Greetings from England.
How much,do you ship to Texas
I love your ideas! I'd like to suggest a video about joinery. Dados, biscuits, butt, pocket holes, dove tail etc. What do you folks use and why? Is there a way to make pocket joints without spending so much on a Kregg? Thank you for your videos- wish I was there!
I guess it's kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Alex Jabari I would suggest flixzone. You can find it on google :)
Hello, are you still selling your 3 string panjo kits? I am very interested. Thank You!! 😊
Thank you
Got two kits today, great for the price. Could have knocked one together in about 20 minutes but want to spend some time finishing them up. I think a little extra attention will make it a more enjoyable instrument.
Update, love the kits but do have one issue, the bridges. They are so soft of wood that within days the strings bit into them so deeply that the instrument wouldn't fret correctly and I had to replace them with something harder
Whenever my wife calls me lazy again, I am going to show her a video of someone mounting strings with a cordless screwdriver. 😀
Are these kids still available
We're do I get a kit at would like one
I have tried both links in the description and I get a "file not found - 404" error. I really enjoy all your videos and appreciate the tremendous time/effort that is required in order to make these videos public. This was a very good presentation.
Thank you so much. Stan
The links should be fixed now. Thanks for pointing that out.
My fret board drawing did not print out at the 9" stated. Do you have the fret to fret measurements that you can furnish?
