@Been nope, a lady does not need to smile more. Don't watch this I'd you don't like it. They film themselves as if we were with them, I appreciate how "simple" and "as is" their videos are. Please do not change anything Hanks. Thank you for your videos.
We have caravaned and not had issues. With us being full time we just followed them and their lead, left when they did, stopped when they did. Not being in a hurry and just enjoying the trip and the people.
Yes we did do a caravan, way back in 2003. We had a total of 5 rigs. It was a blast. We traveled from central California to Wyoming. We had a detailed itinerary for fuel and stopovers. We would love to do it again! Thanks for the video. Safe travels!
You hit the nail on the head. You should never get in a hurry. Just take it as it comes. My wife Janet and I always never plan any of our trips. We have a location we would like to get to. We never know what or where we will be, this makes our travels more enjoyable.
I love that you haven’t gone to a residential or 12 volt fridge. So many of us can’t afford to make that upgrade. Similar to jumping into thousands of dollars in Solar. You are continuing to keep it real! Thanks Hanks❤
Get solar! You don't have to spent thousands of dollars if you do it yourself. I have 400w on my roof and all in, I've spent 600-650$. That includes controller, wiring, panels, mounting brackets, EVERYTHING! It's BY FAR the best investment I've made, as we're off grid 99% of the time. I have 480ah agm batteries too (two 6v in series and two 12v paralleled together)
Loving your content more and more, wow, you guys are killing it. Every content creator has a thing… yours is storytelling. Some are cinema photography, or locations or adventure. Your day to day storytelling is engaging. Well Done!
If you want to spend the day waiting, caravan. My preferred way is to agree on each day's destination. Depart when you want, stop when you want, catch up at the destination.
This sounds like the way to do it. We have gone camping with friends a couple of times. They go to bed at like 8:00pm and we go to bed around 11:00 pm. They are early risers and we are not. They like to leave between 8-9:00 am and we take our time and usually are just making check out time. Agreeing ahead of time to plan the destination and then the freedom to catch up at the destination would be my choice too.
Another real world video, Thanks for showing how full time RV life can be less stressful! It’s a learning curve and you two help with your life adventures. Thanks again! Loved this week video.
Traveling in a caravan is the easiest way to lose friends! It’s far too difficult to overcome all of the different travel styles, driving time, speed, bathroom breaks, food breaks, fuel stops, it’s a recipe for disaster! Share your destinations and arrival times and leave the traveling to the individuals.
Glad I found you. My wife and I are waiting for the snow to melt so we can pick up our new GD Transend. We have camped with our 4 kids in a tent trailer since 1998. The kids are out on their own and we are now ready to pull a travel trailer. Love your content learning alot.
Haven't done the caravan thing yet but I retire next year so opens up more time and possibilities while traveling. Found that Colt Creek State Park last year while sampling creek outside on highway. Very nice and quiet back there. Awesome video as usual.
Haven't tried caravanning but I think you will love the star link for out west ... And as a former camphost ... Why they have a couple hours between check out and in is to give workers enough time to clean 15 to 30 sites ... Excited to see your trip to Alaska
We have done the caravan thing and it is not as bad as it seems. We got lucky and everyone was on the same stop schedule for the most part with a few exceptions. Have a safe and fun trip also We use the TST TPMS and it is amazing little pricey but worth it.
My family and friends caravanned many times. We carried CB radios in each vehicle and also hand held ones for parking the trailers onto the campsites. We all had maps in each vehicle so we all knew the route for each travel day.
We have done it before, and it was a lot of fun. We used walkie Talkies to keep in touch. It can be fun if everyone travels the same. Pit stops, fuel stops, and meal stops.
Great video, regretfully I agree with your minimalist planning lifestyle. When camping I know when I will leave home and when I plan to arrive at destination, all of the rest just has to work out, I will say that was a lot easier 30 years ago.
Ney Ney was unusually quiet today! Is she feeling ok?? Or is Carl just being a video hog?? 😂😂😂😂 Dexter looked like he wanted to rip you a new one when you called him stinky butt!! 🤪🤪 Happy Camping and Safe Travels ❤️❤️❤️ #ThanksHanks
We’ll, Hanks…after nearly 50 years of rv/camping, travel days are exciting. The journey is most often greater than the destination. As far as a caravan experience…we’ve done lots of them and learned to always go your own ride, set some check in times/places, and final destination, but stop when and where it suits you, not everyone else. Just think of how long a quick potty break takes with five rigs and 10 people at one place 🤨
I love FL state campgrounds- and I’ve caught a bunch of cancelations all over FL as I’ve been traveling this winter. I’ve tried a few different ones - with mixed results.. Wandering Labs seems the best so far - anxious to hear your results.
I envy you Hanks on the road full time. My wife and I are older and have grandkids. We would not want to be away from them very long. We bought our first camper last year. Small 4600 lb, Jayco Jay Feather Micro MBS 199. Sleeps up to 7 to 8. We pull it with a Ford Ranger rated to tow 7500 lbs. So far we have only gone to sites within two hours of home for 4 days at a time. I have my eye on a F350 Dually and a Fifth Wheel if my wife and I ever decide to venture a little further out and for longer periods of time. We live in the Midwest and would love to do Florida or somewhere out west. I can spend hours looking at different model campers. I find looking at all the different models extremely interesting. I have the exact Fifth Wheel picked out and truck when the time is right. I may need to be patient a bit longer and wait for prices to drop. Until then, we will live vicariously through the Hanks.
Looking forward to your Alaska content. We are planning it but not for a couple more years. (need to get the Moryde installed 1st ) On the shelf with caravanning but there is safety in numbers, so good luck. We stayed at Colt Creek SP last year for a week. Was also very early arrival but they were very nice about it. You can park in the day use lots and wait as instructed. Park by the dumpsters rather than drive all the way to the parking lots. Allot of room to make a K-turn with a large 5er there. AC units got a workout as not many sites are shaded, it was a hot sunny week. The sites are huge and spaced out nice. Also, not too close to any stores so bring in what you need full for you stay. Plenty of walking trails for sure. They def need to let people know the cell service is really bad there in the CG. I was working remote and could not get much of a signal anywhere in the park. Our phones (verizon, tmobile and att ) kept dropping calls. Data was useless. The park was full so there is also contention for signal. Forced me to finally install my road warrior antenna for my pep wave on the roof of the rv. That made a huge difference for Verizon service. But only for data I got 35mb down 3 up during the daytime hours. We had to use an ip phone to make calls. Nighttime got congested and we just gave up. I think we were able to get about 40 channels on the over the air TV.
I will be very interested in your caravan experience. Have heard pros and cons as I'm sure you have. I'm not much of a group guy would be maybe ok if just give me the nights destination and travel at my own pace. However, sometimes it would be nice with someone else taking care of reservations and some event planning. Sounds like you have a small group hopefully you will get along. Course you guys are so chill I'm sure it will be 👍 happy trails
Caravans are GREAT! Hope for safe travels across the country. I’m livin it up on the van life caravan in Arizona this winter. It’s been more positive than negative since joining a small group.
Hello Hanks, good video. It's Bryan Garnett from PA. Our big trip this summer is down to Nashville with our friends and their RV. So, we have a mini caravan heading south. We plan on a slightly western track on the way down and a more easterly track on the way home to hit Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountain National Park. We have smaller trips planned, Gettysburg and Jim Thorpe are on the list. Take Care.
I caravaned once from the race track to my house... It was a 3hr drive and I had 4 other rigs following me... It was the most stressful 3 hours of my RV life. Haha
Hey Hanks!! I made the drive back home here to Alaska with my first 5th wheel in January. It was a fun, but a hard trip in the middle of winter. There are definitely days that will take longer and parts of the road that are tough. Would love to give you guys some pointers.
As always another informative video. I like how ya'll keep it real and try things out before you let us know about it. The internet starling is an interesting opportunity and I've listened to others tLk about it and I'm looking forward to seeing what your take is.
We showed up to one of our reservations super early. Wasn't a state park, but also got lucky. It was for Fort Wilderness. Our site was ready. It's a nail-biter.
Traveling as a group has its challenges but depends on your expectations. It’s fun if you can chill and enjoy the journey. If not -best to meet them at your destination. You mentioned Alaska, LOVE AK! But did hear recently DO NOT drive RV to Alaska. It will tear it apart. With that said HooseOnTheLooseRVing says have fun and enjoy every moment!! Wish we were in that caravan of yours💕safe travels!
I hate Caravans!! That’s because something always happens to delay someone and if you don’t have excellent communication you’re going to be worried about the delayed folks.
We have never caravaned, but I would be up for trying it. So you guys are going to Alaska this summer. Woo Hoo 🙌🎉🎉 I can't wait for the videos. 🙂 Right now our RV is all set to go, but we are home this weekend. My wife has Covid.
I heard the word Alaska to. It’s been my dream to go to Alaska and I had hoped to get there this summer. I’m looking forward to it. You all are doing and maybe I could tagalong. Please give us the details.😊
Hi, just in case your not aware if you have Starlink I would not worry if you have cell service, because all you have to do is is go to Setting, then click Phone, lastly click Wi-Fi calling. Then you can use your phone with no problem. We have our Starlink now for over 6 months no we never have a phone. Have fun!
I prefer state parks over resorts. Almost all my reservations are with state parks, even in Georgia in April. You're lucky to get into Colt creek. Been trying for a few.months & I live in Lakeland 🤷♀️ Enjoy! And happy caravan travels
We are full timers and travel to some areas that are cell service scarce but have found that our system has never failed us. We have 5G internet from T-Mobile and it has proven 100% reliable. No outside antenna or set up, just set the modem on the counter and as long as we have just one bar we have full internet that allows us to stream movies and use our computers. Just to try it out after we first got it I had two tv's streaming, three computers streaming and our Ring camera active all with no spooling or delays.
Last fall in 2022 we were taking a few day trip without any reservations. We went to a resort and it was packed with kids running around everywhere. So, I checked with a nearby Missouri State park and made a reservation. We arrived and told the people working there we had just made the reservation. They told us to find a site and park. He came by an hour later and said we still did not have a reservation. So, I called the phone number and a very nice lady helped me. Come to find out, I was in too big a hurry and did not notice that the phone defaulted to that day, 2023. She got it changed for me and sent us a card for $0.40 because the 2023 season in that much more than 2022. Best wishes to the Hanks! Kevin
I say loosely travel in a group. If your final destination is a couple of days drive just share daily endpoints and meet back up there. Now if this is off highway I would suggest staying as a group.
We have found that trying to keep “caravan “ topgether can be a little dangerous. I suggest at a minimum CB radio and maybe even GMRS radios. The FRS handheld family radios just don’t have the distance.
I see y’all are headed out west. We are going to be traveling Utah for 4 or 5 weeks in April. Hope we get to say Hi somewhere along the way. We love your channel..! Mark & Bev
First thing I did with this new channel (FINALLY) of mine, just after finishing the upload of my first embarrassment is found y'all and made sure I sub'd you guys! Chris Chapman (was) Your South East Arizona fan extremist here!!! Full timing is a lot more work on this damn thing than any of our houses/homes we've owned prior to this!!! lol
I like watching your videos you always have good content. Glad you brought up cold Creek state park cause I got family in and around Lakeland. I'm more of a state park person too. That might be an option whenever I ever get to take the camper down there for a visit. Can't wait to see the videos about you with the caravan. Take care.
Lived and traveled in my rv with my 3 cats for almost 5yrs and always traveled alone. Don't think I'm a caravan type of lady🤣 I flew by the seat of my pants🤣 Enjoyed driving through the night. Had my cell phone, hotspot for tv and google for maps.
Neat vid and cool to hear about your upcoming trip to Alaska. I'm betting it's going to be one hell of an adventure. If you don't have plans for 4th of July consider attending the car launch in Glassier View where they shoot cars off a 500 foot cliff! Includes a few nights camping along the river too.
I would set up a group meeting with all the folks and set boundaries. Communication is key. We had a not great experience. We have a system and didn't intend to pressure our group to move along. They felt pressure . They didn't communicate until frustration had already set in with them. It was uncomfortable and unfortunate. Be real communicate be respectful to everyone's needs. Pro, is help each other if anything comes up.
Hey guys...Was wondering what your plan is if South Dakota changes their homesteading laws? Their is a bill making it's way thru the state legislature as we speak! We are from PA and are planning on going full time soon and were looking at SD as our state of residence, but now it looks like we will need a backup plan! Thoughts?
Hey Tom.. I called America's mailbox and the legislation up for vote is primarily for voting. It will not effect using SD as a domicile. Going through this process in May. I almost shit when I heard they were going to change the homestead laws. But no worries.
I want to travel with my cat, can u do a video centered around the accommodations you do for dexter? I.E….Keeping him cool when you are away from your rv, do u leave the a/c on even when your not there? How do you find him if he gets out? How do you keep him near when your outside, etc.. thanks :)
Some people look forward to Friday, I patiently anticipate Thursday for #hankstube. State parks is our first choice of campgrounds they are everything mentioned in the comments plus they are my tax dollars I get to enjoy. Also COE campgrounds are usually in a more nature areas. #thankshanks.
Hey guys, I'm confused. What did you do that you will never do again? It didn't seem like the host was upset at all during check in. Did you maybe post the wrong vid or wrong title? 😵💫
Got some good vibes about Colt Creek State Park. looks like a really nice place. I'm like you on the off the grid when i can I just need to get a solar panel or two for the batteries. I enjoy meeting and talking to people and sometimes people just don't want to be bothered and these days I can understand that. good video good information on wifi and skylink I'll look into that and hope Verizon has something Not doing AT&T. any way enjoy your stay hello to the Dexternator wishing you #THEHANKS Safe Travels.
Sure beats California state parks. Most of them are extremely narrow roads, which means 30 foot end to end is max length. Most of them are very old and haven't had any kind of upgrading.
I just bought a 2018 Denali 3500 and realized it didnt come with TPMS installed for the truck. Is your new tpms sensor for the RV or for the Denali as well?
Have you tried using the OnStar WiFi in your truck. I have OnStar but I don't have the WiFi meaning I don't pay for it so I don't know how it works. I assume your truck has it mine is a 2020
Hello Hanks, I just recently purchased a 2019 and I'm wondering if you could tell me how you keep your camper clean around the door. I have similar stairs as you and it's constantly dirty. How do I keep my doorway clean
Alaska? Oh really! There is going to be a LOT of visitors up there…including some silly Canadians…us! Have fun with the caravan…we are more of the solo travellers…did the caravan in Yellowstone… a bit too much!
Buy a gps for a semi truck garmen or rand McNally that way it's all routs for large vehicles, and for reviews on gps look up truckers not RVers they don't travel the country putting a gps through its limits.

Yep we love the way they record. Like we were their friends. Which I believe a lot of viewers actually are.
How bout dat tpms..zit legit ?
Try doing it with with 30 different rigs always HDT with 57ft fifth wheel travel trailer
We have caravaned and not had issues. With us being full time we just followed them and their lead, left when they did, stopped when they did. Not being in a hurry and just enjoying the trip and the people.

It's weird, normally I like 15 +/- minute videos, but for some reason, I wish the HappilyEverHanks videos were a tad bit longer. Good job guys!
Well did you want him to repeat that last 5 minutes over a few more times? 😂
Me too!
Another real world video, Thanks for showing how full time RV life can be less stressful! It’s a learning curve and you two help with your life adventures.

Couldn't be said any better.
I agree 100%. Even when it's you and only 2 other rv'ers, every 10-minute fuel stop turns into 45 minutes.
I agree 💯. I’m kinda of adventurous and if I see something I may want to stop and check it out. Getting to the destination is part of the adventure.
👍🏻
Best advice! 😀 We are that friend...the sight-seer, the slow pace...etc. We will see you when we finally get there. Lol

Hey Hanks! I’m not a fan of caravaning. Most people don’t like the idea of getting up

Caravans are okay, especially if someone has road trouble.

We try to balance between state parks/county parks and resorts because otherwise it gets too expensive.
I heard the word Alaska. Please give the details. I’ve always wanted to go, but really would prefer a caravan for such a challenging trip.
We have found that trying to keep “caravan “ topgether can be a little dangerous. I suggest at a minimum CB radio and maybe even GMRS radios. The FRS handheld family radios just don’t have the distance.
Love all the fun and advice!
So you guys are going to ALASKA??!! I'M GOING WITH YOU! Finally some place besides boring hot Sandy Florida ( okay for short term)😃
I usually call ahead and see if they are ok with checking in early or not.
for state parks we use "Reserve America"
Reorganization every week support club meets tonight at 8. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's a thing Ne.
State parks in Texas do not have spots for a big rigs and you can’t reserve spot unless it’s changed
Super nice spot and not near others but would of loved more of a wooded area around
There's an old saying:
Don't Sweat The Petty Stuff & Don't Pet The Sweaty Stuff. But I think it's okay to do the later sometimes! 😆
Is the little Moma driving? I'd hate to see if I had to pull our 5 wheel, I'd take out everything in site. 😲🤭
Ney Ney be looking good 👍 😁🇺🇲
So what was you space number# at Colt Creek State Park? Thanks in advance!
I read today that yesterday Senate panel rejected 3 bills, SB-124 was one of them. But there's still the House bill.
Uuuuh use Florida…duh
Nathan with LJ/MJ just did a video on caravaning
Timely help. Ty
Do ya’all have a video that shares what you actually do for a living ? Enjoy your videos ;)
Nice backing job!
Sure beats California state parks. Most of them are extremely narrow roads, which means 30 foot end to end is max length. Most of them are very old and haven't had any kind of upgrading.
Rule breakers 😉😆
Well, I don't get it. Travel days for me are fun. Maybe because I have a much smaller rig -- a truck camper, and I only boondock.
I just bought a 2018 Denali 3500 and realized it didnt come with TPMS installed for the truck. Is your new tpms sensor for the RV or for the Denali as well?
What’s the name of that app? The one you used to auto book?
Cool your doing great
Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!
Hi guys, what is the Coverage app you mentioned?
😂😂, Coverage she said 😂🍻
What brand was your previous tire monitor? Ours beeps ALL the time!
Out of curiosity what's your average fuel mileage like with that beast behind you?
Have you tried using the OnStar WiFi in your truck. I have OnStar but I don't have the WiFi meaning I don't pay for it so I don't know how it works. I assume your truck has it mine is a 2020
Hello Hanks,
I just recently purchased a 2019 and I'm wondering if you could tell me how you keep your camper clean around the door.
Hey what app did you for booking?
