In my opinion the Champion rockers are worth every penny and any work it takes to use them. I've used them with a clearanced baffle and no baffle in the cover.
Aloha from Hawaii, I second your claim. I had exact same problem only to discover the intake rockers was just barely tapping inner baffle of valve cover. Remove it and put a check valve, those champions are the budgets builders potion.
Valve cover clearance is real. I got NR racing 1.2 rollers in my Tilly. Had to de-baffle as well! Run that tube to a catch can now unless you want an oily crappy looking filter on it, or youd rather have a nice looking catch can!

I run champion rockers in my 212 and not a single problem.
You always upgrade the valve cover because you’re going bigger. It’s going to hit on the stock cover.
It says in the ones I looked at that u need a valve cover riser
If you don't want the extra expense, you can remove or clearance the baffle. I've done both.

Or a deeper valve cover

It’s know upgrading rockers you either need to upgrade valve cover or run a spacer… terrible title for a video. Putting dirt on a good name.
i had no idea you could do that
Bro get a valve cover spacer
