I knew I was using a bit too much bleach in my kitchen and bathroom when my friend told me that she'd taken her kids swimming and they said "Mum, this place smells like Carolyn's house".
Carolyn Wood 😂 this made me laugh ! I bet your place is lush xxx
You can never use enough bleach, I prefer the house to smell like a hospital, you can perform surgery in my kitchen LOL.
Carolyn Wood Im the same, I know its not good but I just cant accept that I've cleaned without using bleach🥺😅
Haha!
Thanks for the comments. I try to use less bleach these days but there will always be a bottle under the kitchen sink.
What a hard worker you are! It did surprise me that you washed the whole load of dishes and only rinsed a few.................I rinse everything :)
Right.... and washed them all in dirty water...
I always line the bottoms of my bins with old newspaper, to catch any grossness and goopiness. And put some newspaper or recycling cardboard in the bottom of the bin liners too. It's a trick my mum taught me and it really helps prevent seepage xD
Good work cleaning, Mr C. You really earned that gin!
That's a great idea.
I like how you take the time to read, acknowledge and answer the comments. 😇
When cleaning the toilet, start from the top of the system then handle, lid, seat, pedestal and then bowl, this is more hygienic as it stops the spread of germs from the interior to where you touch the most. Also when wiping the rim of the bowl it is best to use toilet roll with Disinfectant so then you can just flush it. Do you boil wash your cleaning cloths with some zoflora after cleaning, it kills everything on them.
I have seperate sets of cleaning cloths and sponges for kitchen and bath, use two different colors so they dont get mixed up.
@@holymags2495 I do that also. I use different color microfiber cloths for different rooms. I took a Sharpie marker and wrote the names of the rooms on each one also.
@@elizabethhamilton4678 colour coding is always the best option. But boil washing your cloths is essential at all times.
@@holymags2495 colour coding for different areas is alway preferable. But boil washing your cloths after each use is essential, the cloths you use in the bathroom harber 1000's of harmful bacteria. It is alway preferable to use something that can be flushed away after cleaning the toilet bowl, this cuts the chance of spreading the bacteria in any way. Colour coded cloths should be kept separate fro.m each other too.
Sorry I'm a housekeeper for a private nursery.
Sometimes it can seem a bit over the top to people but I assure you germs spread at such an astonishing rate.
@@holymags2495 I use separate colours too. This is how I remember...
*BATHROOM* = "Blue for loo"
*KITCHEN* = "Pink for sink"
the sight of you cleaning the bathroom floor with the things on your feet deserves a thumbs up on its own! Thank you for making me smile x
I can listen to you all day long, you are hilarious. But sooo inspired me to get cleaning. Thank youuuu❤
Happy Easter🐣🐣🐣🐰Thanks for the motivation and a laugh. My cleaning tip is to lay a paper towel with some drops of essential oil on the bottom of the recycling bin so that the bad smell an the moisture can soak up. Greetings from Austria 🙋♀️
Happy easter 🐣 love how cleaning videos can take you from not having the energy to do your own cleaning to getting the motivation to get up & get going ♡ also your home is beautiful 😀 have a great day xx
Oooof - starting off with a nice cup of tea! Perfect start to the day! 😍
I love watching you clean your apartment as I put off cleaning mine!
And the thing I will never understand in this country is not rinsing the dishes and just leaving them to dry with the dish soap water on. Why, just why? :)
mikka m so glad you posted this! I have wondered myself why UK folks don’t rinse the dish soap off before drying and putting away? Anyone know? Strange to me.... 🤔
me too...it causes cancer. i rinse everything like 7 times, until its squeeke.
I live in the UK and I rinse all my washing up !
It could be that the rinsing step has been edited out, but it seems that I see it often, the soapy things are put into the drainer and then dried and put away without being rinsed. 😳
I was just about to comment this. All the dirt and soap (which shouldn't be consumed) gets left to dry and later gets wet again with juice or food and creeps into the body. I've always found it odd....
I'm so happy to see a UK cleaning motivation video. You did a great job!
What do you mean by UK?? 🤣🤣🤣 theirs hundreds of them in the UK where have you been ??
Enjoyed your video so much!! I thank you for your honesty while cleaning your house. Sometimes we get so compulsive when cleaning, you’re a down to earth sort of person on your videos, I like it when not everything has to be so perfect. Your home looks great!!
Thanks for the great cleaning motivation! I swear I'm going to diy some dust mop slippers like you have. Love them! A little tip for you. Once a month, put about 1/4 cup of baking soda down your kitchen drain then pour 1/2 cup white vinegar in it. Let it sit in the drain for about 10 minutes and then turn on the hot water and let it run for about 3 minutes. Keeps your drain pipe clean, unclogged and kills any smells. You can do this with all drains in your home. Happy Easter from the southeast coast of Florida🌴😎💙😎🌴
This is an awesome tip! I'm going to do this. I use my used lemons (cut into chunks) and ice cubes and then turn on the disposal. Gives it a nice lemony smell and cleans the blades. Mr Carrington has the best viewers with the awesome tips 👍
Blessings to all. Save safe . Love and hope to all.😷🤗😷
Got the pink stuff and the rhubarb spray very good
Good strong English breakfast with a little milk, gets me going. Great job cleaning, I imagine the house feels better after a good clean. When I have like scale build up, I use white vinegar soaked tea towels, let that sit a while and it wipes clean.
Got to love The Pink Stuff! Thanks for the motivation.
Great motivation :) I'm watching this video and in the corner of my eye I can see the mess that I'm telling myself for a week now that I'm gonna sort it out, I guess today is the day :)
Mr C, my Dad always said sweat is a sign of good hard graft! (Northern slang for hard work! Lol) thank you for an inspiring post! Xxx
Thanks for this - I needed a bit of a kick up my backside today to get started on cleaning which I've been putting off since Friday!! Three things I wanted to comment on especially; 1) I LOVE your cleaning slippers and how you casually still had them on for Tiger King and gin time! 😂 2) I always find it highly amusing how Brits let the sudsy water just drain off the washed dishes - up here in the Nordics we make sure to rinse everything before setting to dry (same thing with baths - we shower and rinse off after getting up from the tub) and 3) I love your narration style, it's very entertaining and relaxing - at the end of the video your voice sounded like a calm air stewart, I was almost expecting to hear about the in-flight entertainment and snacks 😁
Kat Fangtastic to be honest I do rinse everything usually! Was in a hurry whilst filming 😀
@@MrCarrington Ah ok! 😊 I jumped to conclusions based on the time I lived in Dublin and my housemates always left the soapy water drain off,, and I kept thinking there might be a slippery side taste of "lemon breeze" or whatever fairy they were using 😁
That is so funny. I was sitting here thinking my American husband's does not like that dishes are not rinsed. I did not expect from the north LOL
@@karenroberton3290 Haha, seems like everyone has their particular way with the dishes 😄
Nice thorough job! I usually use a washing up bowl for hot soapy washing water (wear gloves to protect your hands though) cold rinse cups and glasses with water running down outside of bowl because there’s nothing worse than ending up having a soap residue 🍷
A tip for the base of the food waste bin - I put some kitchen roll in the bottom with some Zoflora or similar on (or tumble drier sheet) and this absorbs the yucky water and counteracts the smell ! Thank you for this video. I think many of us are cleaning things that we wouldn't normally do at the moment - I cleaned out our wardrobes and wiped down all the shelves etc before putting everything back in a much neater way than it was before.
What a great video, was so lovely listening to you and thank you for such a nice cleaning motivation ❤❤❤❤ much love from Canada 🇨🇦
Good Morning, Happy Easter!! Hope you have a wonderful day! 🕊️🌸🐑
I have a dishwasher which I love but there's something very satisfying about washing the dishes. My Grandmother used to have a sink full of soapy water, rolled her sleeves up and washed the dishes, she never got over the fact there was hot water in the tap x Great video thanks
Well done, your pad looks lovely, the sweat is a sign of working hard, a nice drink well deserved x😊
Should have seen the state of my oven door! My mate Oliver was invaluable! Lent me tools and everything
Can I please ask about cleaning routines please. I struggle sometimes a) to get motivated,b) to know exactly what needs doing and c)easy effective ways to set routines to help keep on top of everything. I love watching sort it out and wish they’d focus a little bit more on cleaning xx
Forgot to say thank you xx
Iwan a tip I learned was rather than using sprays for making a room smell nice which can be chemical smelling...get a spray bottle, pour some fabric softener (scent is ur choice) then a bit water in the bottle shake it to mix and then spray over sofas, carpet etc its safe and smells lovely and just as good as Fabreeze etc but kinder to your lungs etc, my brother has asthma so it was kinder for him too.
Enjoyed this blog a lot, love a cuppa before I start cleaning, hope u had a lovely Easter x
Fabric softner and dryer sheets are the most toxic chemicals one can have... You got a wrong info. Stay safe. 💚☺
I absolutely love the smell of bleach, I use loads of it! Bathroom/kitchen, floors, work surface, drains everything gets a good bleaching 😁.. ooo almost forgot.. empty your toaster crumbs out the window for the birds 🐦 🙃 stay safe.
Yes, we don't waste water in the UK, fill the sink or a bowl and start with the least greasy items. I do the same, then rinse them once I've emptied the sink ❤🇬🇧
Nice to see a man who has a nice clean home
Hack for bins. Use a puppy pad in the bottom before putting in bin liner. Catches any leaks. I also spray or splash a drop or two of zoflora or essential oils on the puppy wee pad before putting in liner. Can be found at dollar store
The glass in oven doors slide out so you can clean them independently. 😀 However there's always a worry that I could drop them 😬 but I use 2 tea towels one to Support the top and another to support the bottom so they don't slide out of my hands 🤪
Happy blessed Easter Mr. C 🐈🐣🌻
Snap, have got the same colour carpet! Your house look so special and clean,, comfortable
Well done Iwan 👏🏼👏🏼
I wish if my brothers clean the way you do 🙃
Stay safe 🌸
your voice is very relaxing. thank you for the video
Now thats immaculately clean🧼 🧽🧽 🧼 🧽
Thank you this was lovely energy so chilled and nothing else has given me a kick start today
I'm in the U.S. and i love the pink stuff ,I'm able to buy it off amazon I'm sure it's more pricey than what u pay for it in the u.k. but i find its totally worth it
We pay £1 here in the uk,it is such a good cleaner isn't it?
Love the music when you’re doing the dishes.
Here in the US, a product called
"Barkeeper's Friend" is the Best cleanser for Kitchen items made of Stainless Steel.
Very effective and puts down a Protective film that keeps fingerprints from showing.
Very impressed with your fast cleaning. I'd make sure to rinse drinking glasses to remove any soap suds. Don't want to taste
dishwashing liquid as l drink.
All in all a splendid job of
Cleaning up!
Take care, your friend in Kansas City, Tom 😃🍀♥️ 🌈🌹🌟🎉🎉🎉
Thanks mr. C. You inspired me and I cleaned along right with you
Thoroughly enjoyed the video and found the different products you used interesting.
Guys my mom learned how to comment on videos! 😂😂😂
Just started the video but that tea is 100% the colour I would go for! ☕️
Hi 😘 I never realized how lucky I've been that all of my previous apt. And homes had double kitchen sinks. I think your whole house clean was a super workout!!! Now I have to wonder why my hubby doesn't clean house. Lol
Enjoy your week!! Take Care
What a lovely home! Love all the plants. And sparkling clean too ✨
Happy Easter to you. Great video with some great tips and hints. Stay safe xx
My husband does all the cleaning in my house - hes very thorough exactly like you so when i showed him your videos he thought you were a legend 😁
I really needed this video after avoiding doing my cleaning for a few days 😂😂 putting the kettle on now and Easter eggs lined up to get me ready now!! ❤️
Hi, only just seen your account! Just a heads up bleach works best in cold or tepid water, hot water renders the active ingredients ineffective - I've only recently learned this too! 😮
One tip is to use a wet towel to make the mirrors shine,we learned in the guesthouse
Totally agree that fabulosia is lovely all the fragrances are great
As soon as you said a cup of tea first, gives you the start you need, I stopped the video and made a cup of Lady Gray tea. I put a little brown cane sugar in mine. I need to get started cleaning today! Thanks for the motivational video this morning!
You’re hired! I’ll leave a LHR-LAX ticket and a bottle of all-purpose cleaner at the Virgin counter in your name. 😉
😀😀👍
That's a god job done! More than motivating me right now I've ended up worn out 😂😂😂😂. I hate cleaning the toilet 🤢 . You're oven is the same make as mine, if you want, have a look at the instructions because if it's exactly the same model you can take the glass out and wash it in and out in the sink. What I've found out is that if I put newspaper or paper at the bottom of the bins with a bit of bicarbonate of soda and some drops of lemon essential oil it keeps smells away and also helps dealing with leaks. I also learnt just a little while ago (I'm not a bleach fan I really hate it, so I hardly ever use it, but now it's used nearly on a daily basis 🤦🤦) that bleach looses its properties I you put it with hot water, it's got to be used with cold water. Perhaps it's something to look into. Thank you for sharing. Happy Easter 🐰🐰♥️
This is the first guy one I've seen.... woop woop well done Mr
My one cleaning tip is to use the S method for cleaning surfaces (especially glass, mirrors and tvs). Start at the top and use a sweeping S pattern all the way down.
So satisfying to watch! For the cleaning clothes that you were putting in hot water after cleaning the kitchen -- I just put them in the washing machine washing them on 60 or 90 degrees, so maybe a little tip!
I like to remove the knobs on the stove and oven, you’d be surprised wat lives under the knobs! 😉 😅
Tip: Dab a little baby oil on a clean dry microfibre cloth to polish the stainless steel - amazing results
Perfect tea colour.
That tea looked perfect and the gin even better!
My little tips are for cleaning the outer part of the toilet use loo roll and flush it away.
Keep you bin smelling ok put q few sheets of kitchen paper in the bottom with a few drops of zoflora or sprinkle a bit of shake n vac in the bin bag.
I think this will help me I have ADHD and I'm all over the place and don't seem to finish anything so thank you.
A long handled brush with rubber head is great for sweeping the carpets if you're not hoovering.
I used to use a small brush and small brush pan on the stairs in the guesthouse
For all of the variety of products that we have here in the US, I am really Jonesing for some of your scents in some of your products. We don’t have that much variety in the scents that we’re able to purchase here. I want Zoflora, the more I see of it.
Amazon x
I’m knackered after watching that 😂🤣
Hi Carrington hope you are staying safe. I saved this vlog because I am at home up cycling a chest of drawers.
Hi Mr c ..love a clean fresh house ..you did well ..💕
I love your living room!!! and thank you this really helped me :)
I used to take the hover up the stairs to the top to do the bedrooms
Clean from top to bottom, then any dust and dirt doesn't dirty clean sides
My oven door was looking disgustingly brown, so last week my husband took it apart and we scrubbed everything clean: took quite a while, but came up nicely - now I don't like using the oven in case it gets dirty again! I have thoroughly cleaned out all my kitchen cupboards, washed windows, scrubbed all my garden tubs that won't probably see any flowers this year, and emptied and tidied the shed. I suppose if this lockdown goes on as long as it might, I will need to do everything again! Happy Easter
I used to work in a guesthouse so cleaned the bath and shower rooms and washed the cloths afterwards
Happy Easter ! I take my tea how I like my men strong & dark !!😂😂, I’ll be joining you in a clean up today spent two days doing work in the garden
First I've watched your videos, love it! The pace of it was perfect! Subscribed!!
I really enjoyed this video , I need motivation to clean came to the right video ! Thanks you 🤍
I would use cream cleaner in the bath and in the shower screen. Just think it works better
Omg I never clean the light switches!! Thanks!
awesome vlog mate, been a busy bee keeping your pad looking lovely, I must say I loved u in your clippers, very nice, it all looked lovely well done, give your self a thumb up . reminds me I will have to do the same with my flat:).
Happy Easter 🐣 what is it about cleaning videos? I love them. Yuk to bin juice. I’ve got pink stuff for the first time & need to clean my oven
I suggest you put the food recycling bin in the freezer for the week until you're trash day, no smell
The bleach bottle is clever, I recommend buying baby Milton tablets as they are my washing up life saver and you get cheap dupes and I find it cleans my kitchen and bathroom.
You have a lovely home ☺️
You did a good job and don't worry about sweating because its good to sweat. I'm a female and I sweat excessively. Even my feet sweat year around.
The stove top metal things are called Grates in U.S.A.❤❤❤
*Yes...* 90s music is my cleaning music to motivate me 💃
Great motivational video 🙌
Hiya I have found leaving the pink stuff for ten minutes before wiping off cleans better xxx
You've inspired me to clean. I've gone for summer 70,s tunes and strong builders tea.x
Happy Easter. Day at work for me today.
I too love the smell of bleach. Thanks for sharing...Happy Easter Mr Carrington 🐣
Hello from OZ.Keep giving us more cleaning videos as it motivates me to clean.🎉
I never tried the pink stuff for cleaning ovens, I must try it sometime
Some one mentioned in the comments blue for the loo and pink for sink cloth,we did that as well in the guesthouse
Never seen your channel before loved it and subcribed❤from julie
Yay!!!
I also have my tea like that...not too strong or too weak...just right!😊
Haha we have Fabuloso in the US!
Best recipe for banana bread is the hummingbird bakery one. I make it into muffins and serve warm with butter 😋
Yum!
