I love Cavill but he’s a good looking fit actor with money he’ll be fine. Played Superman officially in 4 films. Better than 1 or none I’m grateful and looking forward to a new DCU. Whatever gets us to Batman Beyond that’s all that matters now. We need Terry before the super hero movie days are over cauze as much as I hate to admit it, we’re getting there. Team ups will always be popular but the way I see it why not have the cape movie era go out with a bang with a Batman of the future, a way of telling fans and general audience alike there will always be a Batman. A metaphor for the never ending battle between good and evil that goes on in fiction and real life

I liked his rendition of the flash in the snydercut and his movie looks bomb af. A movie a bunch of people wanted to be canceled because he doesn't identify as a man or whatever. They are killing the universe we wanted after trying their best to destroy it. When we fought back, they tripled down and killed even more things we wanted. The dc is dead. And only time will tell if they will regret it or not. I hope they do. I wont be seeing any of the movies without zachs cast in theaters. Im not calling for a boycott. I just don't want to see them. As much as it sucks for me, it is what it is.
Remember this: Dwayne Johnson will do anything to get a bankable franchise with him as lead and that IS a box office hit, he literally hijacked The Mummy, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, Fast and Furious and tried to do the same with the DCEU. Now, WB are still to blame for all of this, but The Rock is not innocent and James Gunn got like the shittiest hand in history for a metaphorical game of poker. If him and Safran get to do anything with the IP in the near future at all it'll be a miracle in of itself.
So that means him showing up in Black Adam was just key jangling which means it deserved to bomb.
The universe tends to unfold as it should
that mostly disproves morons that use Black Adam's failure as an argument for the erasure of the DCEU, since it was only a half-assed attempt at getting the fanbase back on their side (a supposedly small but very loud group that somehow still holds major influence over whether a DCEU film flops or not) before embarking full steam ahead on their shitty reboot attempt, which is what they were ACHING to do since the Hamada days. the fact that some believe Gunn to be some sort of genius or saviour here to bring DC back from the darkness instead of a WB puppet ready to carry out their orders to a tee, which is what he is, makes me think that we don't deserve a good Detective Comics film universe at all.
I'm not mad I got played, I'm mad Henry got played bad! He is the one most to lose from this farce. The guy just waited and waited to be called back, and once he came back you can see the joy when interviewed about wearing the cape once again. They took advantage of his good nature and crushed it. But he is a strong dude, they guy still took it in stride and he ain't going to the sidelines in Hollywood.

I have a feeling that if Black Adam did well, then they would've scrapped Gunn's reboot and kept Cavill. Seems like Gunn was hired back then in case of Black Adams bombed and would keep things rolling with the reboot so they wouldn't waste any time.

It’s quite obvious idk why we’re surprised. Black Adam was a terrible movie. Wb knew it when they did early screenings so they let Henry come in to do a cameo knowing fine well it would help the movie because I guarantee had they not added that in, black adam would have absolutely tanked at the box office. They needed something to draw people in. They never had any intention of letting him return nor any of the original JL cast because they all supported Zack Snyder except for ezra who never really publicly showed support for the Snyderverse.
I remember something about Ezra decking out one of his social media pages with a bunch #ReleaseTheSnyderCut stuff. I believe it was only like that for a day or so though

Terrance, bro, it was just a five second cameo. having a 2 hour movie's success rely on a tacked on cameo put together at the last minute, then acting surprised when said (half-assed) bet doesn't pay off, and finally using this as an excuse to usher in the reboot that WB wanted to do since the Josstice League days is simply not the fault of us, the humans who love Cavill. the game was simply rigged from the start.

I’m just saying Gunn should’ve gave Henry Cavill an Elseworlds franchise similar to Robert Pattinson as some consolation for choosing a different actor for the DCU. Maybe hit up Christopher McQuarrie to write and direct since he was interested in Superman films with Cavill after working with him on MI6.

thing is, the blame is squarely on the studio for squandering all of that potential. we had a Batman with 20 years of experience , which means that most of his stories could've been told in a standalone fashion without any connection to the greater DCEU apart from some passing references, and that his entire rogues gallery (not to mention the extended Bat-family) was readily available from the start, which is something that the new Brave and the Bold film will finally capitalize on, just with a different actor in a different universe. he was easily the Batman with the most cinematic potential out of all of them, and he's getting thrown out. the Birds of Prey were wasted in a weird Harley Quinn solo that didn't know what it wanted to be, Dr. Silvana and Mr. Mind were never payed off, WB has been running away from any Justice League related storylines since Josstice League, so no Legion of Doom to speak of either. about Peacemaker, well, Gunn played his cards well and slithered his way onto the DC throne, so he gets to keep his pet project.

I legitimately hope the new DC movies will be good, especially the Superman movie, but Warner Brothers James Gunn and whoever else have already started off on the wrong foot by not restoring the snyderverse and bringing back Henry Cavill before the reboot.

Pretty scummy that they kept yo-yoing Cavill's career. He's a really good actor but he just cant seem to catch a fucking break.
I think WB had multiple competing Superman projects in development, so that they could move forward with the one(s) that showed the most promise. Just because Gunn was hired to write a script for a Superman reboot doesn't mean that WB was definitely not going to do a sequel to Man of Steel. Of course when Gunn got the big job, he greenlit his own project and axed the competing one, but what else would you expect? If Snyder was in charge, he'd bring back the Snyderverse. If the Rock was in charge, he'd do Black Adam vs Superman. Gunn's in charge, so his doing his thing.

Eh, you're close. Hamada hired Gunn to write Superman Legacy, not WBD. De Luca and Abdy brought Cavill back with the behest of the Rock. When Black Adam didn't pan out, Gunn (now the DC CEO) convinced Zaslav to reboot and go low budget. Cavill got screwed, we got screwed. #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix already.
the question is, when tf did the decision to make Gunn head of DC Studios take place? because that's the exact moment when the DCEU comeback stopped dead in its tracks.

All we can hope for is superman legacy is on par with the batman or the og superman movie in terms of quality cause if it’s average or below then gunn is definitely out. Gunns plan to connect the games, animated shows and movies I don’t think will go down well look at marvel with Disney+ and the cinematic releases I don’t think the average movie person will want to play games and watch tv shows so that will be a huge con in his plan.
