    Yah! Im excited for you! I’ve been training in the Saucony Speed 4. I have not had one issue with blisters or hotspots. I’ve tried so many shoes. I’m definitely wearing my Saucony endorphin pro 4 for my Half Marathon in October!! Thank you for the recommendation! You will do great! I’m glad you’re feeling better! 🌟👍🏻😎

      Thank you, so much!! Im really excited! Kudos to all runners training. You definitely have to put in the hard work for these long runs. ❤️

    I don't think I could wear those Adidas. I have high arches and need a high volume upper. Awesome job on the training. Those tempo long runs will really pay off and get you to hold pace easier! You got this!

    Even though I won't be in Chicago that weekend, I still looked at your Grant Park run map, as I have been in Chicago in the past for sightseeing, the Marathon, and "live" Frank Sinatra concerts. Good run - except you did not include a loop around the classic, historic Buckingham Fountain. Yikes! It is so beautiful, you must lead your group off the path and into the park for a loop or two around the fabulous fountain, and return again at night when the fountain is lit up with varying lights of different colors.

      Thanks for the suggestion, Cathy!

      @@oldmanvanrunning 😀 Google Buckingham Fountain if you have not already seen it. It is huge, and it is beautiful, especially at night with all the varying colored lights.

    Bill, isn't it risky to wear a shoe that has to have all the added moleskin, etc.? Wouldn't it be safer to wear a shoe that has been successful for you in past marathons without any added gimmicks? Is the Asics Gel Kayano 31 too heavy a shoe for you, for a marathon race effort [you previously talked about how comfortable it is, and I agree - I bought it a few days after your video, and I am a longtime Gel Kayano fan.]

      Don't worry, Cathy....18 miles with no issues is a good sign, and I'll get some more runs in it before I head to Chicago. Also bringing my Endorphin Pro 4s for a last minute decision. Needless to say, I'll do my best to make the right decision.

      @@oldmanvanrunning Oh, good, that you will do further "research" before your final decision and will take an alternative pair of shoes with you to Chicago.

      @@oldmanvanrunning See, Bill, I am trying to shape the video you will do post-Chicago - I want to see a happy, successful video, NOT a video saying your shoes gave you such blisters that you dropped out. Okay?? 😀

    Curious what your full shoe rotation looks like?

    • @oldmanvanrunning
      @oldmanvanrunning  2 місяці тому

      Great question.....Although I wear many more models than normal during training due to reviewing, here's my primary rotation: Gel-Kayano 31, Superblast 2, Guide 17, and Hyperion Max 2

    • @Ginguredrunner
      @Ginguredrunner 2 місяці тому

      @oldmanvanrunning cool...I was mostly curious what your wore for long runs. Looks like you could use several of those for that purpose depending on distance/pace.

    • @oldmanvanrunning
      @oldmanvanrunning  2 місяці тому

      @@Ginguredrunner Yeah....Gel-Kayano 31 for long, easy runs over 10 miles.....Superblast 2 for uptempo long runs over 10 miles (and shorter). The remaining options are under 10 miles and speed work (Hyperion Max 2)

    Do you not find the Addias adizero pro 3s narrow?

    • @oldmanvanrunning
      @oldmanvanrunning  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the question!...I didn't find them too narrow for my feet (medium width). The hotspot issue is due to the abrasive upper material and the stitching (creating a hard bump) under the bottom eyelets.
