I'm so glad I've found your channel. I've been listening for months everyday and have relistened to many of your books. I know you get a ton of questions. Hoping you can provide some guidance. How can I tell the difference between "pushing a thought down" and "letting a thought go"? Both seem to be ignoring the thought in the first place? Thank you for everything you do!
"Thank you for your kind words and support-it means so much. The difference between *pushing a thought down* and *letting it go* lies in your approach. Pushing it down is resisting the thought, like forcing a beach ball underwater, which creates tension. Letting it go means acknowledging the thought without judgment and allowing it to pass naturally, like a cloud in the sky. The key is presence: notice the thought, accept it, and gently release it. With practice, this becomes easier. You’re on a beautiful path-trust your growth. 🙏✨"
@@audiblearia Wow! Thank you so much for your reply and encouragement! Shortly after making my comment, I was reminded of one of your earlier teachings which you've just referenced in your reply. "Feel it, Accept it, and Let it go." It makes perfect sense now. I love the beach ball under water analogy too. Basically instead of playing wack-a-mole with these thoughts that appear, let the mole climb out of it's hole freely and wander off into nature. I tried this yesterday when a "cringey" memory thought came up of a past experience that I usually just cringed at and tried to stop thinking of. I realized THAT'S what you're talking about. I'm just pushing it back down, which will only make it pop up again in the same cycle. So I recognized that I was cringing and uncomfortable with that thought, and instead I decided to let the entire thought play out, I acknowledged the experience, and confirmed it's only a thought now, then let it go. Now that experience is no longer cringey when I think about it now, just a day later. Amazing. Thank you so much for your response and for all of this amazing information and effort you provide each day. Please know you have my full energy and support!
