Oh my goodness I loved this 😂❤! Now I’ve learned that you ran track when you were younger 😊. I’m guilty of forgetting how tall you are. With your height, and long limbs situation, I can understand why you retired yourself from running lol. As I’ve aged, my love of running is only in my mind, since my legs started saying, “Nope. Not today”, years ago 😂. Now I’m in love with cycling and appreciate the low impact on my joints.
Love these, thanks for sharing Venus! Your coach is so shy! Is he more lively off camera? Random pet peeve... I always play with two balls I may pocket before I start a point (obviously no ball boys lol), incase I hit a let of an ace. If my opponent notices and then deliberately won't give me the third ball, that's drives me nuts 🙈
I am 55 y.o. with a virility of a 27 y.o. i have the same lankiness as venus, and it may explain my obsession with the sport. I have a cousin who was an up and coming tennis protoge in the 70's and his son became a coach. I see Venus as an underdog. Always. She has played vs. More experienced, mature, hostile, racial animus, her sister, an illness and she always plays with grace, poise, dignity, and intelligence I am inspired to take lessons. I must satisfy the obsession which is clearly in my DNA. Thanks for inspiring me Venus!!!!
When Venus mentioned what her AO QF opponent did faking injury I had to check her record. Only two matches where Venus was coming from behind. One against Li Na in 2010 and another against Madison Keys. I think it was definitely Keys smh.
I love how Venus just confirmed that Roberta Vinci WAS wrong when she was getting mad cuz Venus was waiting for the ball boys in that match a few years back lol
I actually wish Venus would do more cardio to get her speed and stamina back to where it used to be. As for choking, that 08 USO QF was definitely on Venus's racquet.
Hi. This is really a great conversation. I wonder if there are protocols among players and WTA tour umpires. Like pros can't be too close with umpires or giving them gifts as friends to avoid being accused of biased judging during professional matches. Or pros and umpires can't be seen having meals or hanging out together. This might be an obvious question, just curious about some protocols or unwritten rules.... Amazing vlogs thank you so much 💚 .
I think being cognizant of the ball kids or not says a lot about someone’s character. It reminds me of that 2015 match with Vinci in the semi’s of Wuhan. I understand being frustrated and instinctively wanting the play to go faster, but you shouldn’t do it at the expense of a ball kid. I would have been fined for cussing at Vinci lol. “He’s still running” is a lot nicer than what I would have told her 😂

venus I have a question, after being around the courts for over 25 five years professionally, whats the worst and best thing about professional tennis?
Was your friend with the high ball toss from the Czech Republic? LOL They often have high ball tosses. And let's not forget Steffi Graf's ball toss. When it's windy, they nearly have to chase it across the court after throwing it up, lol. But, for some reason, they seem to have good flat serves - maybe it's because they are forced to wsatch the ball so well because of the long flght time and potentioal for wind to affect the trajectory. Thoughts?
Hi Venus from Northwest Territories Canada. I'd really love to see a video if you would be willing to share with us what your first pro tourney was like in 1994 when you beat the lady in the top 100 then played ASV #2 in the world at the time and about that match where you were up a set and then ASV pulled the bathroom shenanigans. But more importantly, what was it like to suddenly be playing a public pro tournament after all the buildup to your pro debut?

But, if it's just once in a blue moon and in a REALLY huge moment, upsetting situation, terrible call - something like that, and it's someone like Federer or Venus who never do it, then I say whatever, let it go and move on - not worth mentnioning. Also, a lot of players, Nick Kyrgios is a noteworthy example, do a LOT of charity work for and with children, and by no means are neglecting to give back to society with the proceeds of their extreme goof fortune and luck and privilege at being able to play a sport for a living that earns them huge amount of money and allows them to see the world and live a very special kind of life.
