I love Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, but I agree, he does not need those silly drums!!!!! I saw him Sept 15 in concert, & he didn't have drums, so hopefully he got smart & quit using those silly things!!!
Anyone who doesn't like live music needs to listen to this. The studio version of this song is ok, but this version, just amazing. The drive time cd is the cd of Doyle Lawsons I like the least. This song is the only song on the album that I really like. Its very neat how whenever Doyle gets band members how they learn how to do such great harmony. Their newest cd is a gospel cd called Burden Bearer. Its just amazing. I agree with some other commenters that I don't care to much for the drums. Doyle Lawson and his group can do some of the most incredible acapela gospel quartet singing you'll ever hear.
The drums drive the music unlike anything else. Part of the reason why some bands track to a drum machine in the studio.. Gets you "in the pocket" with the rhythm. Drum on Doyle!
Exactly. Terrible comparison. He should have his mouth washed out with soap. Mr. Monroe was a great man. He was a giant in terms of his contribution. He invented bluegrass.
Absolutely PERFECT Bluegrass! All the classic elements updated with some masterful solo playing. Doyle Lawson keeps it going and keeps it perfect.
to the hell with them damn drums
World class. Great band, great song.
Just listen to the harmony On this. this is talent not studio enhancement. This is just great.
Love this song, it's right down my alley for my Carolina Baby!
One of Doyle Lawson's best secular songs!
Awesome
WOW!!!!
This is so different for him, great.

The dobro player is Josh Swift.

All he was doing was saying how much they changed bluegrass music!

Dan seals did this song much better, back in the day
