Hands down the best place to get good reviews. Thanks! Question: there's quite a few offers going on in Europe which make the Galaxy S24 practically the same price as the Pixel 8a. I imagine the Galaxy s24 wins, even with the exynos cpu we get here?
Unless you mind the PWM on the screen, S24 has basically bettet everything, except the replacement part prices. And Google's Tensor chips are glorified heavily customized Exynos CPUs anyways. So S24 for around $500 is a great option, yes
I just went from a pixel 3a to the 8a, nice phone but it's noticeably chunkier, on the fingerprint reader it misses more than the 3a but it's not that bad.
I picked this one up for $400 I would never spend more than $400 on a pixel. For me at least this def isn't bright outside in the summer time I can barely see it. Gotta use this in a dark room at all times. The battery life is kinda trash also tbh but it is what it is
Thanks for the video! I am considering switching from Pixel 3 to Pixel 8A or Pixel 8. The UK Google Store offers a nice amount of money for the Pixel 3 trade-in option. As a result, I could not make up my mind between 2 options: Pixel 8A 128GB for 300 GBP? Pixel 8 128GB + Pixel Watch gen.1 for 500 GBP? I haven't used the smartwatches before due to the lack of need. But still, it might be a curious experience. What would you choose?
Does anyone know if you're able or have the option to change the icon shape of the apps on the pixel phones. Does it have the developer option within settings. I'm thinking of having a google pixel as my next phone coming from a Samsung Galaxy A34 and i think the round app icons look really ugly and absolutely unattractive. Also i have been told that using a Google Pixel is like using an iPhone. Is this true becuase i was told its to do with the style of the phone in terms of the gesture navigations. But that could be said about any phone like a Samsung for example that has navigation buttons and gestures?????????
Love the reviews Lisa [and for many years], but the background on your headshots is so disappointing. Nothing wrong with what you had before. Grey? Really? Anyway, you're the best.
I have a OnePlus right now but it's starting to really do some weird things so I'm going to have to upgrade soon. Still undecided between Pixel and OnePlus. I refuse to pay $1,000+ Also, RIP LG
TY Lisa, been watching your reviews for years now. The issue I find with the Pixel phones is it feels like you are losing a lot of options/control while also getting a mid device. I was on a Note20U and bought the P6 fully expecting to switch. I couldn't. Software bugs, lack of options, updates that took 20-40 minutes, dropped signal, odd cell tower behavior... So when Google did the P6>P7 upgrade for like $30, I went for it thinking these would be resolved, but nothing was. One UI seems to add so much control to your phone and you don't miss out because Google's ecosphere is available right along with Samsung's. I don't like feeling trapped into one manufacturer, but Samsung is just making progress while Google and Apple seem to be regressing. Google trying to tout "clean" Android as a benefit is actually wrong, because it is either their way or nothing. I also have a Thinkphone and Lenovo/Motorola have put in a lot of work to let the owner control their phone. (BTW, IMO the Thinkphone is by far the best budget phone being sold and no one knows about it).
This trend you are pointing out goes back to the beginning of Android. Nowadays it's Samsung's OneUI but previous to that LG's skin was the bee's knees and further back from that HTC's Sense reigned king. Very few folks opted for Nexus devices outside of nerdy phone folks. Somehow Google thought Pixel would reverse this trend and even though they basically bought up HTC's engineering prowess they haven't but any of that into their UI/UX. I wonder how long before Pixel becomes the next failed Google project.
i wonder who at google decided: lets make this display look like a f*ing 150 dollar motorola phone. i mean seriously no one can tell me that they save significant money by giving it those ridiculous bezels. thats just for mocking the costumer...
@@RoastBeefSandwich yeah i think you are right. its not about saving money at all. its just mocking the costumer. it wasnt enough to differentiate it from the flagships with the plastic back, lower gorilla glass 3, slower charging, no reverse wireless charging, worse cameras, no telephoto - lets give it bezels from 2017 like a 150 dollar phone too, just for the hell of it!

Lisa has the absolute best t-shirt collection in the tech reviewer space on UA-cam in my opinion but this pink shirt 👚 will always be my favorite!❤🤓
ikr I shared that shirt with everyone I know I love her shirts.
Great review, even better t-shirt.

did they fixed problems with fingerprint sensor??
did they fixed Viber mic problem?
Your video embedded advertisements really suck...and then they take up some 20% of the entire video time.
Real price range of this phone: 200/250€
what $250. dollar phone that's not a chunker is waterproof, has wireless charging and a 120htz oled screen, I will give you a hint, none.

6.1 is best, IMO. It's called preference.

Looks like an iPhone 6

I doubt it really saved them any money, it's just a way they differentiate their lines.
