I went to Magiccon Chicago and participated in the sealed PTQ. My pool was insane, one of the 6 packs had 2 Vein Rippers and a foil Kaya... I then went on to play like garabage and go 4-4. Vein Ripper is insane, but not enough to overcome my terrible piloting.
Trying to get back into drafting on Arena. I'm curious - How do you learn the set before starting your first draft? Do you read through all of the cards and just go in hot?
I'd say watching people like Nummy & other content creators like GomletX or NicolaiBolas. As for how Nummy and others learn before drafting, reading cards is probably the #1 to learn and then just playing a few games and reevaluating.

All the evidence point to the fact that attacking is the right thing to do - and blocking is a crime. Herring can block - but only once. Her specialty is avoidance. When victim or perp in crime of blocking and it's time for a fine - she fades away- That's so wise - that reward is a draw - a land or a spell. In what kind of deck - that is not swell? But who do you really want in the same boat. Of course - you know it. Lead with the Goat.
But what about Maskmaker is he a breaker of laws of the land? He can - but on the other hand - he is a good citizen. He attacks and then - guises get cheap and soon you'l have heap - of power on the battlefield. But maskmaker kind of needs a shield. You wonder a while - "what would be that?" The goblin goes: "Ooo - a Thinking Cap!".. The Gossipist whispers: "You should go Gruul. Green happens to have a more proper tool." The Maskmakers eyes glimmer with hope - he yells: "YES! A rope would be DOPE!". With that he would no longer be afraid of Shock - or gangs of criminals who like to _block_ ...

I just trophied with a cryptic coat P1P1 and it took until the last battle but I finally pulled a bubble smuggler from it. 3 mana to cast the coat into 2 mana to flip to make a 7 power unblockable creature is devastating for opponents.
I got a vaampires deck for alchemy. I don't have a Vein Ripper - dunno if I should craft and include. Can't play the Imperial Sorin in alchemy but could cycle it to GY with Call of The ring and bring from it with Queens Bay Paladin... But that's kind of slow and expensive in life against aggro - and against control -- well -- Sunfall :(
