Private schools, on the other hand, are private organizations run by private individuals. They do not receive public funding, depending solely on student tuition and private donors.

Teachers union donate millions to the democrat party. Democratic party does the Union bidding. The teachers union support Democrat causes and teach these principles to the students in every way possible. Teachers unions do not want charter schools to be successful so therefor the Democrats do not want them to be successful. Public schools are not about math reading and arithmetic with the exception of how those affect public school budgets and and votes for the Democratic party. Any gain for charter schools is a loss for Democrats and the teachers union while actual student learning results and parents wants absolutely do not matter to the same.

Along with closing the border, we need to close government funded schools, and curriculum. Private education is way better! They still teach morals, and values. And they still say the Pledge Of Allegiance. And some even teach the Bible still.

In our area it costs just over $6000 to educate a student for a year in a charter school and over $22000 in a public school. I wonder if it could have something to do with money 🧐. That is a lot of $ for the school district to give up

The legislators are upset because the Teachers unions are upset because they get paid per child who attends public school. So if these children are not attending public school then they lose their funding. They do not like the fact that parents want the money to follow the kid to where that parent wants their kid to go. California has this problem. They're blaming school choice and the money following problems because of lack of enrollment in public schools. Maybe if the schools were better parents would choose them. There's a concept!!make your schools better... kids will return!

All government schools should be totally privatized. Each individual school building should be set up as a private, non-profit school with a local parental board. They should charge tuition and compete with each other. A full-ride scholarship voucher should be given to the bottom half based on property taxes, and over about 20 years, this should also be privatized.

Teacher's Unions and Colleges/Universities. They want to be able to control the ideologies that are taught to the young. Indoctrination isn't possible with kids that have been brought up to think.

here is the killer, the public that pays for, and owns, public schools is a public of past and present parents. They are the public that has a public purpose to be served, and it is helping them bring up a next generation of citizens. The job of the school is helping parents. There is no other public to be served; and the value delivered by public education is in terms of what it returns to parents of students; the students are to be beneficiaries.
