    Please note, the colourway of your particular machine may vary from the one shown in the video, but the process for using it will be the same. Some Dyson Gen5detect™ models may include additional accessories not shown in the video - these will attach to your machine or wand in the same way as the standard Cleaner head and accessory tools.

    Hi, Dyson Just received my Gen5Detect today! Finally replacing my old but still working V6 after many years (since its first released, replaced the battery twice), to be honest, Gen5Detect even made me more OCD in cleaning! How satisfying to clean my carpet and see the micron 10 microscopic graph turned until green for whole carpeted apartment! Never felt the carpet so cleaned, even I am a no-shoes-at-home type of person, you can still see all the tiny dust collected after vacuuming. Worth the investment!

      @@aerobill8554 I bought a cheap plastic attachment from Amazon for old V6 attachment accessories. Less wastage save the planet.

    I love how Dyson constantly refines their products to always get better, I have a v11 and I thought it couldn’t get any better but this is on a whole new level.

      Yeah and they hike up the price. Nearly £1000 for this? Their vaccums used to retail at £250 for years

      @@Horizon301. Yes but you have to remember that Dyson is a premium technology brand not just a vacuum brand. The price goes up as the technology improves just like Apple it all appeals to the same consumer they have more affordable options as well like the V7 and v8 models. Dyson can charge more because their products are objectively better.

      @@alwaysapple7993 the technology is marginally improving and they are selling old, inferior and dated products as affordable options. Not a benefit at all. Respectfully, while I suppprt the premium brands such as dyson, Miele etc, I do not if there is no real value added. Shark and others are manufacturing a product largely similar. The corded vacuums at least had longevity and were priced appropriately. The cordless stuff cannot match the reliability nor usability yet it costs more than double for the previous gen models and the latest cost as much as an iPhone which is clearly a far better use of your money if you ask me. Unless dyson back their products and stop scamming customers as they are now with ludicrous pricing, I won’t be endulging in their latest products. I will keep making use of the corded dyson which can stand the test of time.

      @@Horizon301.they used to retail at 250$ because they were basic vacuums without any technology. Show me a vacuum at that price that has a precisely angled laser, a particle counter working with any attachment and finding an attachment for every single surface in your house in the box

    Why Dyson has not yet made a corded edition is crazy. Literally the best vacumm in the world, you would have power and portability all in one hand.

      I also wonder the same. I would purchase the corded version immediately. I got Gen5 and I like ti very much, but corded version would be ideal scenario for me :)

    Will Dyson offer a seperate wand/rod without the inbuilt tool or does any of the older wand/rods fit this model?

    This is characteristically Dyson genius! One question however: if this is the successor to the V15 Detect, why is it called Gen5 and not V16 Detect?

      Good question,
      It should be because of a b9g change that actually is not there if u consider
      -power.. we have 262w against 240-250w before (air watt.. so electric sonething like 500w)
      -duration.. 70minutes against 60 before
      -dust filter... here there is the most visible declared new..
      ....
      But there is a big change not so many talk abput.
      Battery.. changed from 7 to 10 cells that means from 25.2v to 36v.
      The suction power is voltage per current.
      If they increased the voltage and mantain3d the power means they have now lower current...
      That meand they use cells in less stressing way...
      Battery will keep its capacity longer!
      This is the biggest change i see

      The name Gen5detect™ comes from our new, 5th generation cordless motor. Unlike V15 Detect, V11 and V10 before, our latest motor is a completely new platform, and a huge breakthrough in engineering. With Gen5detect™, we wanted the machine's name to celebrate this engineering accomplishment!

      @@dyson i noticed that u increased the voltage of the system. But not the power (or just slightly).
      It means u reduced the current on the blower.
      Is that part of the motor optimization u mentioned above?

    Just bought our very first Dyson, this exact model. Didn’t work right out of the box. Won’t turn on and won’t charge. Returning it back to Bestbuy tomorrow morning. Honestly in shock that such an expensive product won’t even work brand new.

    Hello dyson. I'm just wondering if the gen5 fit the Dc 15 dok station . I noticed in Australia website you have added to the absolute one . Are there any plans for Dyson adding the dok to the UK absolute gen 5 in the near future? Ie gift . Very interested in it but the cost is bit too high for myself without the dok .

      Good question! With such a large increase in input power, the biggest challenge in developing the Gen5 motor was thermal management during extended cleaning sessions. To remove the heat that was produced, we designed a brand new monocoque frame. We used a conductive overmould material to draw heat away from the concentrated motor core. New cooling turbulators also encourage the transfer of heat energy from the frame to the passing airflow.
      We also re-thought our motor core, using trapezoidal windings with a brand new stator shape. We paired the increase in speed with a new, stiffer impeller design to maximise efficiency. 🔧

The fully-sealed, whole-machine HEPA filtration system is engineered to capture 99.99% of particles down to 0.1 microns. And even traps viruses. Also, is the most powerful cordless model that we offer in regard to suction power. So it is cleaning and purifying your home, as you vacuum.

    hello dyson I am writing you from turkey. I bought the V 15 detect extra model 9 months ago. My product constantly stops during use. I sent the product to your technical service under warranty. The technical service sent the defective part of the product back without repairing it, saying "we do not have spare parts". I wonder if you offer your service quality differently from country to country. Please help me.

    This product have serious problem with dock. I Once installed, there is a structural defect that can never be removed, and the service center does not recognize this problem.I don't want to buy dyson again.

      When removing the wall dock, follow these steps. Remove any tools from the holders. Place your palm at the bottom of the section where the tools attach. Push up and away from the wall - this may take a bit of force.

    J'ai acheté l'aspirateur Dyson Gen5 il y a huit mois. Maintenant, j'ai un problème de filtre bouché. Dyson n'a pas résolu ce problème depuis environ trois semaines. Le client service ne résoudra pas mon problème.

    I still prefer corded animal 2 or 3 over this. Cordless batteries don’t last very long

    Help and support.... There is none, I just purchased a new Gen 5 has the felt strip start to detach from the small Hair Screw tool, having only just been used for the first time on ONE car mat!!. This was purchased to replace our other V11 that was only purchased in 2019 (replaced as the soft head attachment snapped!!! and the battery failed and no spares were available after very little use) I tried using the support chat, which is useless, so I tried calling, however it's not available! You can't even email support as there is no email to do so. I have just started doing UA-cam reviews, so this will soon be going up as my first negative video unfortunately. It might seem insignificant but when spending lets be honest a small fortune for a hoover, you expect more.. I suspect that extensive testing does take place, however no remedial action is taken. Very disappointing. For people looking to purchase, keep an eye out in the next few days for the video that I have taken.

      @@dyson I would DM you, however it is not possible to DM you via UA-cam. DM's were removed from UA-cam in 2019 I believe. As it's a felt strip that is becoming detached from the tool, I am probably going to have to purchase some glue to stick it back down.. However it still remains that despite the cost of this product, the build quality is substandard. Finally as proven here, it is far to difficult to get in touch.

    LOL...what a joke! It's soo strong of a suction it stops the cleaning head from operating, thus rendering it an almost $1000 useless tool!!!! If you have carpet this is not the one for you!
