  • Hey Guys! Here is a simple tutorial on how I color whip. If you have any questions feel free to ask. You can find most of these supplies online or at your local craft store. The silicone can be found at your local hardware store.

    Can somebody please help me, ive been looking for an option to the GE
    silicone because i cant buy it in sweden. I cant buy it online and ship
    it either from any website. Its been almost 1 year since i started
    looking but it almost seems like im the only person with this
    problem...Can somebody please help me with an equal option? Or mayby
    someone knows how to soften silicone, the one we have in sweden breaks
    all my piping bags and is super hard to use :( I really need help D:

      Linzor You can buy actual decoden whip from shops like etsy ebay Sophie and Toffee. They come with bags and tips as well!

      I don't use GE anymore, I use a different brand of 100% silicone. But there are plenty of other alternatives. Deco cream is sold online, but from experience they aren't as good as silicone. Some can have shrinkage and have a different texture when it dries. But I would recommend looking for 100% silicone caulk and testing them out.

    How did you put on the tiny gems and stuff around the case? When you made the case and put it on your phone, did the charms fall off? if it did what type of sealant can i use? I am a beginner at this and i want to try it out first before i start my decoden case small business ( local). Where did you get the resin charms and stuff? Lookign forward to your response

    How do you clean up the mess of the silicone on the piping tips? I noticed its really hard to clean up, and once it gets on my hands its super sticky!

    • @iron7952
      @iron7952 5 років тому +3

      use any plastic bag to wipe it off, water wont do anything. depends on brand though, of course. if youre using a GE sealant then use a plastic bag. if DAP or any other brand then its just chips off your hands if you let it dry for a while.

    • @jellyfishareepic
      @jellyfishareepic 3 роки тому +1

      it depends on the brand, but some come off using mineral spirits. also, nice pfp

    I think I may have accidentally mixed in too much acrylic paint into my silicone, because it's been 2 days now and the GE silicone I used is still not fully dry. Do you know how to make it dry faster or correct this issue? I really don't want my cases and the pieces I used to go to waste :( :(

    • @KIAG42
      @KIAG42 7 років тому +1

      ChelseaCHICKAPOW You can put it under a slow fan or set it by an air vent that's what happened to me today

    So you don't use glue for the trinkets? You can just use the silicone itself to hold them in place?

    • @MoniquesDecoShop
      @MoniquesDecoShop  8 років тому +1

      +ron8675309 there's no need to use glue because the silicone acts like an adhesive and everything just sticks to it :)

    Can u use this silicone to make molds or no?

    • @jellyfishareepic
      @jellyfishareepic 3 роки тому

      sometimes i use it, but only when i'm out of options. it's not the best choice for resin molds but it works. also, don't put the silicone onto an existing silicone mold if you need a flat surface. it bonds and ruins the original mold (yes, i did this once lol)

    how long does the silicone take to cure ?

    • @serena556114
      @serena556114 8 років тому +2

      Some silicon tubes say that they're cured in half an hour, but when making a case you should still wait 2 or 3 days.

    • @MoniquesDecoShop
      @MoniquesDecoShop  8 років тому +3

      +Angie Diaz it depends on what type of silicone you use. I use GE so it cures within 30 minutes but not fully. I usually wait 1-2 days before handling a case

      Adorabubbles ABC hope I'm not to late to reply. However, in order o make this, you'll need a resin mold, and for the words lettered beads. Optionally, you can color the resin with food coloring or pigment powder and glitter. You can easily find videos teaching you how to do resin on UA-cam.

    Oil based paint or pigments for silicone sealant is best as sealant is oil based. Water based paints will produce not as smooth a mix and are repelled by the sealant.
    Oil for oil based water for water based. Oil and water are not a good marriage
