You are mature individuals to be so young. It’s beautiful to see your friendship evolve into something so strong and pure. I had a friend that I considered as my one and only ride or die. She was my sister but we were both struggling with addiction. I stopped using, I’ve been in recovery for almost 4 years but she is still in the trenches of addiction. I will always love her, she will always hold a special place in my heart but I will have to love her at a distance because my recovery has to come first. I know first hand that addiction changes you, you do things you’d never imagine doing so I don’t blame her for the mistakes made. I made plenty of mistakes too. Hold on to that beautiful friendship, it seems so special. When I think about it, it feels like a piece of my heart is missing and I wouldn’t wish that feeling on anyone.
