I apologize this is so late, but honestly, they're not lying when they say college is busy. Also, I feel more comfortable posting this now that I no longer live in Raney House! I hope this helps any prospective OSU students or just anyone who is about to move into any college.

As someone who is graduating from OSU in December 2022, I can completely understand how you feel. The best guidance I can give is connecting to student organizations you find important to you. Maybe even look into learning communities! I was in ASH (alumnae scholarship housing) and it was one of the best experiences of my life! It does feel lonely at first but when you find good people, it helps.
Thank you so much🥺 it’s weird going to college when no one really talks about the loneliness of it. I appreciate your advice a lot :) this past semester I joined a service frat and it really did help so so much. ASH has always sounded so cool to me and I definitely want to look into it more! Thanks for your comment :)
I move 2 hours away from my family in August and I've been trying to make every day count and you never realize how close it is until you see things like this. I wish I had more time but I know great things are to come

I moved in fall 2021 to ohio state as well and really related to what you said about college sucking at first and being really lonely. I wish I knew you or knew that other people struggle with it as well because I only saw people having a good time and it was really discouraging. I ended up transferring, ohio state is a great school but it wasn't for me unfortunately.
I feel you, I considered transferring first semester but I ended up staying. I hope your new college is a better fit!
College is Fr busy and stressful, when u have free time you wanna just sleep and or hangout with friends. And my freshman year changed me so much as a person
It’s also hard when your hours away from home and my uni is 7 hours away and lemme tell you I didn’t find my person until half way through the semester and still finding people that I vide with

Move in was quite literally one of the worst days of my life. And YES college is SO lonely, I was so lonely until like, November, and then I finally felt better. It was so hard, but so worth it, it got so much better.
It kind of remembered me how everytime i feel when i leave home and go to my dorm in school. Even though i never showed it to my parents in school but i felt like dying after they leave . I can't even describe the feeling , cause it's painful but happy as well . 💜It's been 5 years since i left dorms and i miss it.

I’ve lived in Ohio my whole life so I’m used to it, but coming from Colorado you’re definitely going to have to adjust to the humidity hear! It’s a different type of heat than out west lol
