What was the big deal with his receiving the "Sharpshooter" medal. There were three (3) medals conferred on soldiers who were proficient with weapons, at least when I was drafted and served in combat during the Vietnam War. The lowest/basic medal was the "Markman" medal; the next was the "Sharpshooter" medal; the top medal was the "Expert" medal. I received the latter for achieving a score of 497 out of 500. Additionally, I was awarded the patch (right chest pocket) for "The President's 100 Rifle Team" indicating one of the 100 best shots in the entire Army of, at that time, 1,500,000 soldiers. Oak leaves were awarded to service men who were awarded two (2) or more of the same medal, regardless of the type of medal!
A witty take on the fake hypocrisy surrounding patriotism during the war on the home front. Of course ,it was necessary, but some people never thought further than their own back yards!
Interesting movie. Dailey was too big for a belly gunner pod and not every serviceman went overseas. Otherwise, not exactly a believable script, but an okay movie.
Great movie 🍿 yeah, the good conduct medals!! 😝
Amusing .......... got some good laughs
