In the process right now of doing it as well right now. Waiting for the wood glue to dry and some of the paint I used on the inside to dry. Using faux leather for the outside though. Gotta head back to Lowes for electronics cleaner though.
Planning to buy a 6505 60w combo just for that. The MH too small and 120w is overkill, on this era we mic the cab anyways and with band practice you don't need more than 25w
I don’t know if this makes sense but if you managed to put both chassis into one head (accounting for the heat issue with enough venting holes or whatever), you could run an ABY splitter into both of them and switch into each one when you need a clean or a lead sound
Great job! Cool finish, funny how on an amp ALL the work goes into the wood. I learnt something seeing you add dowels after the screws. Thanks.
Wish I had the wood working skills to do that. I’m just going to cut off the bottom half of my combo and reattach the bottom to it.
That's exactly what I plan on doing too
i never run my hand across the saw
I am considering doing this with a hot rod deville and I appreciate you making this video.
oh wow, I was just looking up a guide so I can convert my traynor YCV50B into a head!
Nice work. The dowels were much better than screws.
Well done Sir..

Nice! I would convert my Marshall DSL40CR in a head, since Marshall produce only DSL 20w and 100w head. The first too little and the second too big!
I have exactly the same issue

I just did this to a peavy rage 158. Not quite as exquisite as yours but it came out nice and sounds very good thru my 1x12 cab
This is what i need for my Blackstar HT 60 2x12, i run it through a 4x12 so i don't use the speakers in the combo.
Forgot to add that it came nice 👍
Do you do this for other people?
Nice! I have a couple YCV80`s i`d like to this to. Don`t suppose you have the measurements for the cut pieces?
Don't ruin those... They're killer combos.
Did you cut the top and bottom to the exact lenght of the amp head for a tight snug fit? Or left some room on sides?
I left an extra 1/8"
once you stained it... i was just in a trance.
I don’t understand did the front not look good? Why only video of the back finished product?
that's technically the front. the back has the power cable, footswitch input, and FXloop
I didn't know Tai Lopez made woodworking videos.
I have a Marshall reverb 12 combo, and i want to buy a lead 12 combo and make a 2 chanell head, i dont know if is posible 🤣
I've been thinking about something similar involving an orange micro dark. If I figure it out I'll do a video on it

:49 really? your hands are crossed while using that saw? Shall we call you stumpy?
Where is the speaker output?
Speaker output is on the underside of the chassis .
lose the man bun
