When adults are unskilled and uneducated and can only get one minimum wage job or live off the government, you're not going to have much money.
But ya see, here’s the thing, this is also affecting adults who are skilled and educated. I’ve worked in helping people enroll for social programs like Medicare, food stamps and welfare. The people who are “living” off of government assistance don’t even have enough to spend on themselves. It is virtually impossible to live off of government assistance without spending your own personal funds. The system is working as it is intended
In New York State, expect to pay a 30-40% income tax rate. Not to mention 9% sales tax in most parts of the state. If you own a home in a New York suburb, expect to pay $6000+ a year on taxes or $1500 a month for a single bedroom apartment. $1500 - $2000 a year on government mandated car insurance not to mention all the costs associated with registration, inspection, etc. 30% of the cost of gas is taxes alone. Then they take 40% of your stock market profits in taxes. Half my phone bill is taxes and government "service charges". I did the math once and around 70% of my income goes to taxes in some way or another. The whole system is literal slavery.
The answer? More immigrants (legal and illegal)! Plus, more government benefits for the non-productive. Let's race to the bottom!
Why is it only shitty jobs that Gen Z is going after??? We need apprentices in all trades right now. Check your local community colleges, local union halls, etc. Now you won't make shit your first year or 2 as an apprentice, but sooner or later it will increase. Now understand you're gonna get dirty, sweaty, possibly oily, your body is gonna hurt at times. But you'll make a pretty damn good wage and have pretty good to outstanding health care. To each their own, but I don't know how people go to a cubicle every day pounding away on a keyboard. That would have me in a padded room. But yeah, it's not so bad on the blue collar schlub side.
Because no one wants to run off to trade school only to have half their income taken away from them in taxes alone.
Go to trade school, earn slightly above minimum wage for 2-3 years and after 5 years you start earning a more normal salary, then a better than average salary. All at the cost of your health. I think most Gen Z:ers say no to that.
