Camping In Malibu Creek State Park

In preparation for my first ever backpacking trip in 2 weeks, I got a camp spot for 2 nights at Malibu Creek State Park to practice, test out my pack, other new gear and new clothes!
I hiked 4 miles with my 30 pound pack and discovered I need a different pack for myself because this one is too large for my XS torso..And this is why I took this preparation trip because I would rather find this out now than be in pain in the middle of backcountry! I thought this REI Trailmade would be acceptable as a beginner, trying to get around not spending $300+ on a pack but it looks like I will need to make that investment...My body will thank me later. It's still a great pack overall for those with a 16" or longer torso, just not for me! My new tank top, not a great idea because my backpack straps rub on my skin, so a T shirt it is! Feeling more prepared now for my trip! Enjoy the views of Malibu :)
