Only a few musicians have dared to venture into the sound of Jarresque music (Oxygene, Equinoxe), typical 70s Electronic Sci-fi Retro Music. Be it the fear of being denounced as a plagiarist, or because these sounds just do not seem to be demanded. Now and again, a few songs pop up with elements reminiscent of Jean Michel Jarre; impacting on today's 'Electronic Music'. But entire albums in a kind of a Jarresque style can be found very rarely.
Despite the above points which could have potential for conflict for a musician, I've created my own 'continuation' of the spherical sounds á la Jean Michel Jarre - just for me, not for the 'market' or the 'scene'. Now, more than a decade after my first Jarre-tribute album HYDROLUX, the story continues with Hydrolux ABYSS. Enjoy!

You have to accept Ava has a unique interpretation of the whole Jarre concept and brings a fresh enriched sound to the stage. Vastly impressed and look forward to hearing more from Hydrolux Abyss.

Fantastic vintage JMJ sound.This is what i would like to expect on last Oxygene 3 album.I still love Oxygene trilogy ,but Hydrolux just blow my mind.Very good job :)

And it would be absolutely fantastic to see how Ava did that music. What about a short documentary showing studio, instruments, techniques...?
😁 😂 🤣 NEVER! i hate to be on cam, but i get your point. but seriously, there are plenty of producers on youtube, showing off how to make good and not so good tracks. when i do them, i'm really all but entertaining. it takes me almost a week to finish a track. at least 1000 breaks, and reworking what i did before. so, for such "tutorials" i'm the wrong man :D technically, i'm rather spartanic. i shared what instruments are being used on the amazon salespage for the cd, my DAW is REAPER and that's it. it's way more interesting looking at how paint dries.. 😁

I’m a big fan of Ava, I think that this time with Hydrolux Abyss he has outdated himself... he has prepared a work which is even more intimistic and painted even more imaginistic landscapes someone could create with this music in background in his mind...The guy should deserve more attention from the public scene because he really has great skills which only JMJ had at the beginning of his career...Keep on with the good work Ava!

Oxygene of JMJ is for me more than music... it is a medicine... I listen to oxygene for almost 30 years :-)
That said and as a producer & guitarist, I wanted to congratulate you on this spectacular work. I am amazed. Well done. If you want electric guitar lines it would be with great pleasure. kind regards. Gilles
Thank you, nice to hear that. I'm not planning to include guitar into Jarresque productions - if I ever would do more - but who knows, I'm also playing handpans, so, maybe for such acoustic productions we might connect again! ;)

Cosmic electronic music as Jarre originally conceived it, with the sound of that time. For me, much better than Oxygene 3.
wow, i hope he wont see this, or he'll block you from his fanpage 😎 i wish i could make music as "fluffy" as he did it back then. his tracks have a better... "flow". his arrangements are more consistant along an album. but thanks for the feedback nevertheless! ;)
Well.....mister juan is right...oxygene 3 is not his best work.......i respected jarre more in the early days .....so im happy with this surprise

:D noooo waaayyyyyy, i'm not a stage-dude. i dont like to get public attention for myself as a person. only for the music. and i find such "keyboard acts" on stage pretty *yawn* boring. i leave that to the pros like JMJ. they have huge screens, fireworks and dance on stage like derwishs ;)
