First of all that entire beauty rant was funny start to finish. I definitely understand I’ve been loc🔒 for 11 yrs. I’m very happy with my decision. My first loctician recommended that I cut 5 inches of my relaxed hair before I started my loc journey. I was already natural for 2 yrs. I didn’t want to cut my hair. I found another loctician that was willing to start my locs without cutting my hair. After seeing my locs with relaxed ends🥴 I soon decided to cut my hair.😂 I had shoulder length hair before my loc journey. I cut my hair up to my ears in 2013. As of 2024 my hair is past waist length. I am the Medical Massage practitioner and I love to get my nails done but I know I can only have them on for about two days before I’m pulling them off because they in my way I just wanted to look nice but I’m tired of the keep up too so I feel you 100% you got me laughing over here, I don’t got time for no make up none of that. Hey babe!! I had my hair loc’d and I started with two strand twists! You don’t have to cut your ends! The only thing is, it may take time for it to lock up if your natural texture is really curly. That’s the problem I ran into so I just decided to cut them and start over. Hope this helps you love💕
Hey sis about the locs, I started my locs almost a year ago and I had shoulder length hair already! It did shrink up a lot when they started to get thick! I’m still not fully loc’d BC of my hair texture and BC I didn’t want to cut my hair but they look good! I have natural curly ends to at I love! Hey Empress, in reference to locing your hair you can lock it at the length it is now and transition that way. You can also add extension if you want and get them clipped once you get to a desired length. Let me know if you want to know more.
I had my hair loc’d but I cut them off. I was having scalp issues. You don’t have a lot of maintenance with locs. Just keep it up by retwisting. Keep your scalp moisturized.
I literally locked my hair pulled my nails off and went shorter with a natural looking french tip. Also pulled my lash extensions off cause they were ultra annoying and my natural lashes are longer lol. I got crochet dreads. My natural hair is long. It was braided and threaded into the locks so it's safe and growing underneath. I can pull the crochet dreads up over the roots as they grow cause they're stretchy. I love them! My mom started and her hair stylist cut the dead ends off first and she started from there you don’t necessarily have to cut it all off. I hope this helps!
I feel you I cut my locs off and I regret it! No you don’t have to get it cut. You could do loc extensions, you could grow your hair out and yes do starter locs . There are many ways to start your loc journey. Make sure when you go to a loctician she does a in person consultation!!! If they quick to quote prices run! Lol
