Yeah, $18,000 to upgrade from the T6 to a T8 is about right. A base V6 Mustang starts at $24,000, and a V8 Mustang GT starts at $32,000, up to a fully loaded $46,000, so the price difference ranges from $8,000 to $22,000. I doubt Ford would make a hybrid Mustang, but you never know. Great review.
Great review as always. Beautiful vehicle but at 80k I don't think my wife will let me sell our house to get one. Oh well, guess I'll be sticking with my 03 Carolla. :-(
Tom, thanks for all the great review's. The only ones I like better is Autoweek and that is just because they do a 0-60, emergency move and a 60-0. Plus the fubs at the end are really cool. JP
Ahmed Ramadan And? If you care about the environment you shouldn't be buying a new car. You should get something that has long since paid back the emissions from building it and acquiring the raw materials to make it.
+Shell Casing Yep, nothing like the sound of a six or eight cylinder. But it's not so much catering to environmentalists as it is the government. Automakers are forced to get much better fuel economy averages and so that's why you'll see more of these powertrains. Which in the end is good for people who like to breath.
Fucking Americans who are obsessed with V6/V8 engines. They are bad for the environment. We don't have them in Europe anymore, and we are not missing them at all.
This car, especially in this version, is just insane. I would friggin love one of these.
Great Review Tom...I appreciate how you deliver the tech info but with a real world, real person presentation.
I’m surprised the review wasn’t more complimentary. That is one impressive crossover.
YESSS! Tom you had to do another review on this car it's just beautiful
Ironically, I am watching this seven years later because some used 2016 XC90 T8s have come available in my area. I plan to test drive one soon!

+cadsux Consider the CAFE rules, a hybrid Mustang may be a necessity down the road. Hope they make it sound like a Mustang though.
Nice review as usual. Love the clip at the end!
Wow!! That's a nice interior configuration!!!
I've seen many of these on the roads here, great looking Vehicle
I'm absolutely in love with this car. Looks so elegant. I don't understand hybrid cars though...they seem confused and way to expensive!
Hybrid cars are the way to go now in Europe! :P
We drive this car:

Looking at Seattle in the background made me feel homesick
+Justin Kim sometimes we have sun
+Jorge Urdaneta I prefer the cloudy weather, so much easier to shoot cars. I'm the only one in Seattle that hopes it's grey!
fortunately in my country has locally assembled hybrid vehicle incentive.now XC90 T8 price just half compared to its competitor.
Love this car
you should start doing a driving at night pov tom. thanks.
2016 Ford Focus RS review?
+halopcdraco As soon as I can score one yes.
Sweet. I have watched all your videos since cnet on cars hasn't uploaded much. What do you do with all the TP that you buy for trunk space?
+halopcdraco I return it immediately.
nice -would like to upgrade from my 04 xc90. ..but will have to save my pennies!
Buy a slightly used one, or one that has been involved in a light car crash. You'll save a lot of money and the car will feel brand new when repaired.
We have a lot of deer in Florida
The xc90 looks great but also kinda like an x5 in the front and side
Thought I was the only one who thought that. But the interior is definitely unique.
+Moaiz Shahzad yea that's definitely is true! gorgeous cabin
I think so too, especially the side
I wish this platform had a normal V8 like the past models. Simple and reliable over all this new garbage tech.
and you are a bullshit!
Richard Joash Tan lolwut
Ever heard of a little something called the environment. It's all over the news!

LOL, when you do get moose in FL, be very careful, they are lost, dazed and confused!
LOL 18,000 IS NOTHING!!! Its going for 100,00 in scandinavia!
kenneth yeah right that's for an upgrade to t8 engine and i the regular xc90 is 69.000 usd the excellence is 100k
Бака хватает максимуи на 300 км.
Giant box exterior, and an interior that looks like it was built by Ikea...no thanks.
80 grand for a four cylinder. What a joke.
chancy319 It makes more horsepower than some V6 engines. *coughTwinchargedcough*
