Once KD joined the Warriors, his legacy was tarnished forever. Then he leaves the Warriors after they lose to the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals (preceded by Durant getting handed his two championships and back-to-back Finals MVPs) and become dethroned as the two-time defending world champions, and heads to the Nets in hopes of leading them to greatness. He comes the closest to doing so in the seven-game 2021 Eastern Conference Finals series against the eventual NBA World Champion Milwaukee Bucks. But when 2022 proved embarrassing with a first round playoff sweep against the eventual Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics, KD demands a trade that summer and doesn't get his wish until midway through the 2022-2023 regular season. Phoenix is his last chance. If he is unable to lead the Suns to the Finals or even Western Conference Finals in 2024, then his career is over. He'll be 36 years old and having played in the NBA for 17 years by that time anyway. Unless Phoenix were to renew his contract after next season, it's doubtful that any other team will take him. But we'll have to see what happens in the near future!
Respect is huge.

Kevin Durant needs to team up with jimmy butler in Miami
I actually love that idea for both Durant and Butler...and I HATE super team ups.
Would that work? To acquire they would have to give up most of their shooting depth like Robinson, Vincent and their main player Tyler as well along with some picks.
@@redeyexxx1841 No absolutely could not and would not happen. Durant is locked in contract, for, I think two more years. Also, they are all in with this Beal acquisition. Miami is currently focusing on Dame Lillard and getting him out of Portland.
There's not a drop competitive pride in KD.
Ever since he's choked a 3-1 lead against the Warriors, he's been a coward dodging the grind
While he is arguably the most talented player ever, and I REALLY enjoy watching him play, I cannot disagree with that comment. It is also mind boggling to me how he doesn't have at least 8 scoring titles. four in his first six years by the age of 25.
@@skap_attack And I agree with your comment. That's what makes it so disappointing.

tbf I wouldn't call the Suns a superteam. both because I don't think Beal is all that good (a chucker on a 30-win team and a perennial street-clothes all-star), and also because the team was assembled via legitimate trades rather than free agent mercenaries.
but I agree, Durant needs to deliver at least a WCF appearance next season to salvage his legacy (because no one is beating the Nuggets next year).
I think in order to be a great champion, not just a great player, one needs more than talent and athleticism. It takes a work ethic that seeks not just to outcompete your competition but outcompete yourself.
That work ethic takes place on the court during the entire game with hustle, during practice, lifting weights, etc.
Jordan and Kobe were great champions because they always found a way to contribute to win the game. If they were having an off night shooting, they made damn sure they were making big plays on defense or facilitating others on offense. And when the game was on the line, they knew a big defensive play could win the game just as much as a winning shot.
Work hard all the time. Play hard every play during the game on all sides of the ball. And have the basketball IQ to know when to seize on an opening to make a big play.
That's what champions do.
I agree with this. You nailed it. Talent and athleticism can only take you so far. The mindset is what makes the great ones.
@skap_attack thinking about this more...it's also more than work ethic. Olympians train constantly. All the skill preparation must still be executed when it counts. That is where it has to elevate to a mental necessity to succeed.
I think a lot of people work hard. They aren't lazy. But succeeding isn't EVERYTHING to them, so they don't have the same inextinguishable fire. They find ways to accept their shortcomings and get on with life. This is actually a healthy, stable, well-adjusted approach to life. It is also why the true greats in their fields are usually a bit maladjusted. That's what it takes to get to the very top of achievement in a given specialty.
I don't mean this as an insult. It's just the phenomenon, the difference at the top versus close to the top.
There's that evil word - WORK!!!
KD is pure AAU - turn up with a loaded squad and "hoop"
@@dazgordon-hill2660 the KD and Lebron mentality
Sir, I love your irreverence and analytical approach delivered in awesome comedy and sarcasm.
no.1 mj d rider strikes hits once again!
My son was 2nd team all conference his sophomore year and 1st team his junior year. He was one of only two non-seniors to get 1st team. After his junior season, the best team in the conference wanted him to switch schools and join them. We stayed put out of loyalty and we didn't want to ride a super team.
Then in his senior season, the coach split up the players in practices into two teams. My son on one and the next two best players on the other. You could tell the other two were getting used to playing with each other as they would often pass to each other in games but not my son. Despite having a superior FG %, the other two would always take more shots.
My son's team lost in the title game to the other team. My son was only 2nd team all-conference while his two teammates got 1st team for the first time. We wanted to be loyal but got stabbed in the back.
This is why I believe Durant made the right move going to Golden State. It's easy for a team and teammates to start taking you for granted. If you have a top team that wants you, don't pass up the opportunity.
Your son’s coach is a scumbag. I’m sorry he had to deal with that. But loyalty is always good.
@@tromboneman4517 he thought it would be good for the team to scrimmage more. He just made the mistake of trying to even the teams and never switching them up. I was wondering why they weren't passing to my son more and didn't find out what they were doing in practice until about midseason.

KD is just a system player, no leadership qualities and has this huge bag everybody talks about but can never demonstrate it when it matters most. He needs the best spacing literally ever on a court, with spot ups, free lanes to the basket because everybody is covering shooters, transition pull ups, mid post or up top iso one on ones, and no pressure in order to get anything off when it matters most.

Then the Warriors, Nets, and now Suns.
While I agree with you the level of talent certainly raises to that threshold, it’s a gray area for me to call that a super team. Since it was organically built the right way in the draft. Mj, kobe, mcgrady, durant.
He is the most overrated player of all time. Durant would be ringless if he hadn't jumped on the Warriors superteam bandwagon. The same team he chocked a 3-1 lead to the prior season. Don't ever compare him to Lebron who lived up to the hype and became arguably the greatest player ever
Love this channel. Goes against the grain to deliver the hard truth that defies media puppets and mainstream narratives.
This is “hard truth?” Lmao this is an NBA twitter kid with iMovie and a mic. People been saying this stuff about KD since 2016
KD the ultimate bus rider. Respect that lmao
James Harden's clutch play us hiding in his beard.
This was a superb KD breakdown 💯
Touched on every important detail and only the important details of his career. Very healthy mix of respect and criticism.
