I agree. The police played along as allies right until the last minute. They ghosted the LWS liaisons calls, all the while they were in close phone contact with the transgender rally organiser, even calling him right in front of her. I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out that there were plain dressed transgender sympathising police in the crowd, stirring things up. I don’t think it’s a far fetched hypothetical considering how things went down.💖

What happened was terrible, but it was also unavoidable. After what Linda said was happening early that morning organisers should have canned the event. It was obviously going to get ugly.
Police should not be used as a protection squad in such an instance, rather that's what private security people do. I thought she had to have her private security brought over with her as no security firms here wanted the job?
The government can't get involved with police or court matters, which some aren't aware of. However, that's actually a good thing otherwise we may as well live in Nrth Korea.

How can our prime minister and the other MPs support that kind of attack on people? I watched on TV last year the protest in Wellington and the police attacked the peaceful protesters - taking kids down, women etc and last weekend they just stood by on the orders of someone to do nothing!!! Please make it make sense… from that story it is very clear that it was planned!
To be fair from this event it highlights why women and girls don’t want men in their changing rooms… they would get assaulted and no one will be there to protect them, young or old! A very sad and disappointing time for this country. Thank you for letting women of NZ talk Sean.

pretty clear the police were taking their normal precautions to protect the women prior to the event and following standard protocol and then were told to stand down and not take any action. probably by the prime minister office no doubt

Mark Mitchell, given your interview with him, is a useful as a chocolate fireguard. Please ask at some time why did the "poor" coppers on the ground obey an unlawful order to protect their citizens, made up mostly of defenceless women. If I was their father I would throw the so and so's out of my house.

Just horrific. Tim Poole on Timcast IRL was talking today on his podcast (episode 746) about holding police officers to account for their actions. Sure they take orders, but if those orders are unlawful (and put people in danger!) and they obey, then they ought to be prosecuted. This seems to be a growing phenomenon where police are acting on behalf of someone and it's not for the society they ought to be serving. Same thing happened with the Nazis - just obeying orders was not an excuse.

It was a 'soft' location for any protesters. The organsiers choose to not to listen the advice given by the police and KJK original security company. The organisers of the event should be held responsible for the outcome the occurred on Saturday.

What I have learnt over the years, don't upset harden feminists, trans activists and drag queens. What I can say, KJK and her shadowy right, alt right and conservative christian fundamentalism backers knew there will be rowdy protesters that possibility included some paid 'disruptor' protesters hence the location. Yes, I know KJK does get legitimate money from merchandise and right/alt right guest appearances.
