let me as german tell you something. you just cant translate german peom.just not possible to understand the feeling that lyrics like this carry inside..you MUST learn german. dont know how to explain it.maybe its cause the german language is build in thousends of years..dont know.

Also, Rammstein is known for lyrics that have dual meanings in them or cultural significance that simply can't be translated well, and the translation almost always will break either meaning or flow. Just take "Du hast", that translates to "you have", but it sounds just like "Du hasst" meaning "you hate" (It has a German double-S, but I don't have that on my keyboard.). When one word is added "Du hast/hasst mich", it loses meaning except "you hate me", but then another word is added "Du hast mich gefragt", "you have asked me" and that is the only translation that gives meaning. It takes a great writer and poet to translate to the limits of the languages, and I'm most definitely not one of them, but I can enjoy the translations as well as the original German lyrics. Plexpara has a valid point, to some extent. German has a lot of grammar and you can play a lot with it. Some poetry can be translated well, some cannot. Where English might lack some of the grammar, it has a gazillion words that can be used instead.

@@Schneter the album Zeit, has a release date of April 29th 2022, so unless they've been holding on to this song for a long time it's pretty damn new.

The members of Rammstein come from what used to be East Germany, they understand on a fundamental level of what is at stake for Ukraine.

Because you can never translate a language perfectly. Their are nuances in words in different languages that you can't see in other languages.
