Our five pear trees were planted 2 years before we bought the property. I have pruned fruit trees, 4000 apple in one winter. I have pruned every year but not summer pruned. After 7 years we have not gotten one pear! The trees are 9 years old. I don;t know the cultivar. Plenty of blossoms, no fruit. (the trees are not ornamental) Could it be we need another cultivar to pollinate?

Would you trim down mini fruit trees?
Would you recommend doing a summer prune on sub tropical plants, like cherry guava which has just finished fruiting? I'm on the Sunshine Coast
