@@matthewhostetter8974 You say this, but my friend who survived Michael smacking directly into Panama City said that she did actually regret not evacuating for once. "Eh, was about to go to bed, but f*ck it" - 40 min later, worth it. I absolutely love these videos. I do all my rouls almost daily, and it's nice to see other people suffer in similar fashion to me 😂 I My friends do not believe me when I say rouls are fun - especially mentor. There are tons of goofy players, silly moments, and hilarious interactions. I'm so glad you haven't had to suffer praetorium repeatedly in these yet 😂 I did 5 mentor roulettes in one day a few weeks back - 3 were prae. Lo and behold, so was my msq roulette. Turned out people were "grinding it out for fun, for the moogle tomes"
I had a white mage in a stormblood dungeon that was using only cure 1 and 2 while I was tanking. We wiped twice on the initial trash, the first time with 2 packs and the second with one pack... I realized that they weren't using their HOTs... if you have HOTs as a healer, keep them up! It saves how often you have to cast bigger heals. Edited to add: as for peanut butter, homemade is best. Many store bought ones have extra crap added in, such as stabilizers. Nothing wrong with that, but when one makes dog treats for fun, you have to be careful. I have made my own peanut butter and hazelnut butter, and I prefer those over store bought. Oh, I've also made my own "Nutella" as well. Fantastic in smoothies.
I can certainly say regarding talking about high level healing play is that if they are just rouletting their way up in levels they likely rarely play anything above level 50...I learned my lesson when playing Astro and started doing the 50/60/70/80 roulette so I could start doing higher stuff to learn the kit more rather than just ending up with 50 and below stuff from roulettes.
I think I heard somewhere that the death of the comic industry can be traced back to a shift in distribution. Before they where sold anywhere magazines where so anyone with a passing interest could read them. Then at some point they where only carried in specialty "comic book" stores which were frequented by only by people dedicated enough to go to such a place.
I mean they could always do something for new zones like HW relics did - if you have say full magicite then it gives you a head start on whatever mechanic is in the new area
Really been enjoying your achievement journey. Any chance of getting Twitch vods on a separate UA-cam channel? Would enjoy watching but I'm never on twitch.
12:25 There is another trick for that part of the dungeon. If you get the gorillas to start throwing at you from the side, then you leave that giant square area back to where the wall broke down. The gorillas will stop attacking and jump onto the platform early, allowing you to pickup that whole group in one shot. So you don't have to kill the group and then wait for the gorillas to jump over.
if you have to change your upload schedule to reduce your stress, please do so. i've been subbed since Mad Because Small:tm:. i'm more than happy to wait for the amazing content you put out and i'm sure others are as well. take care of yourself. from one angry lala to another lolol
The real pain is running Dzemael Darkhold with the Command Mission squadron. Almost impossible to get the tank to not fight in the explodey crystals, also a huge pain to get the tank and the Ahriman into the purple area. By the time I manage to drag the tank into the purple, it's about to disappear anyway.
It's all in the micro managing. Best method is tell them to engage, immediately tell the group to disengage when the tank attack goes out, move where you want them since they follow you, and tell them to re-engauge. It's not a perfect solution as they'll all be grouped up on the Tank and probably eat more damage than they should, but it will at least get the boss where you need him.
@@DemainaNyx For me they keep trying to re-engage the moment the tank gets hit, so I have to spam disengage and they do kind of a slow stutter-step toward me. It's possible I'm doing something wrong, first time I've used the command missions in quite a while.
5:50 Sounds a lot like the classic "Someone complained a bit snarky so I'm gonna be annoying" so the healer decided to do just that by using Cure 1 and avoiding Raises, rather than a WHM who doesn't know their job
Yeah, probably this. I've only had to boot two people out in 3,000 hours, and both were healers trolling. They can really not care, because even with 30 minute lockout, they'll still complete roulette dailies faster than any role that kicked them out.
That's an overreaction from the WHM, though I get becoming testy when people try to backseat you WHEN it's not needed. Had a tank complain to me about suboptimal healing and "giving advice" after the first pull - in braindead easy casual content. So I only used Benefic I for healing after that, the rest of my attention went into DPSing and throwing cards at the DPS. It was a fast and easy run ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The amount of Hypreborea runs I've gotten as hearler or tank is astounding. It's 500% the skip buyers that don't bother to read tooltips before queuing and bots getting ready to ruin the DT launch.
This video is never late. I absolutely love getting the notification that the mentor shenanigans are up and these videos have been a much needed enjoyment the last few weeks while I've been essentially doing the job of 2-3 people at work (gotta love retail right?) Happy dawntrail!
10:30 Cider, what food do you recommend? i always use Boiled Eggs but i'm considering using something else to make my stats better during leveling my alt jobs and doing the DT raids
i think its more like everyone in IRL is already so used to despair and sorrow in everyday life that the final days wouldnt even really get off the ground lol
I’ve honestly never had a bad experience in Aetherochem but now I see what you’ve been talking about. Let’s hope those sprouts pass the knowledge on to the next group they’re in. 😂
28:00 Dragoon does get an AOE in the form of Doom Spike at level 40, does not feel great to use until you get Sonic Thrust to combo into at 62. Still, it does exist.
Video is a mood every sprout that queues into this has difficulty learning the 2nd phase Especially when its a healer player have to mark myself each time to follow to help them
I just use the food from the vendor in the Gold Saucer, always have, very occasionally I will use some of the better stuff, which mostly are quest rewards so cost nothing just to use them up. But I will always use it and I always repair after but that's just me I guess.
Honestly, I think part of the reason the despair was so effective on them because it was sudden and life had been pretty good for the most part for them other than war but most hadn't thought about it in some time. For us in our world, we've been on a slow downward trend so we've kind of become used to being depressed or sad and it's become a new norm. It'd take a HELL of a system shock to push a lot of us over the edge. What Might cause a monsterification would be a sharp swing in the other direction. If we suddenly went pure utopia, I know a lot of people who'd have a real hard time adjusting to it.
Friend dont burn yourself out, if a video takes a bit longer thats ok! Editing takes a LOT of effort and time. Especially how much stuff you have to condense. Love the content and keep it up!
11:30 iirc from a lore channel, the batsquatch was just some random monster that got caught in an entrapping enchantment a few weeks before you punched it in the face
Ah, that DRG was a Balmunger. As a certified Balmunger, I can confirm he was a doofus. You get Doom Spike at lvl 40 via job quest, and there has never been a moment in FF14's history (at least since 2.0) that DRG has never had AoE at endgame. Even at level 50 it had Ring of Thorns.
Yeah. The one thing that annoys me about early drg aoe is when it’s just doom spike with damage buff on the single target rotation. Having to do single target instead of just spamming aoe to keep the buff up annoys me to no end for some reason.
Regarding dead content: Look at the Deep Dungeons. If you try to queue with randos, it certainly feels dead. Even with the ultimog challenge this last month, you'll basically never actually find a queue. But that doesn't mean Deep Dungeons are dead content. They have their own dedicated communities that are more than happy to keep playing them for several years to come. I imagine Eureka will eventually go that way, too. You won't be able to just hop in on a whim, but the Eureka community will stick around and coordinate to set up groups for various things for several more expansions.
The NIN using Duton on that boss hurts my soul >_< (the lightning shot (kaiten?) is the same exact potency, and there's no chance of them wandering out of it halfway through)
as a sprout the timing on dual stars was the hard part, I didn't know what snapshotting was so I would wait for the ice to clear out before moving to dodge the fire, but you need to move the moment the attack happens. every fight before hand had a large window between successive AOEs so it didn't really matter if I waited for the effects to go away, but this attack in particular basically forced me to learn what snapshotting was and how attacks actually work.
The final days turned people who fell into despair, which is the loss or absence of hope. most of the npc who turned were overwhelmed by their friends and families dying and lost hope turning in return. I'd say you were being optimistic about how irl would handle it. Personally, I feel like our world is slowly gaining the mindsets off the inhabitants of Ultima Thule/The Dead Ends, and we would be destroyed.
I could definitely see us sacrificing half of humanity to summon Zodiark also, though unlike the Ancients it probably would not be a willing sacrifice..
That Ala Mhigo pull needs the entire kit in my experience. Alternating Adlo and Physick just keep the MP up or even an ET Adlo when the raw HP is low. Letting the Atherflow gauge build up for extra lustrates helps. Even at all that, there is still a good chance at a wipe depending on the Tank mitigations.
31:20 in the mid 90s? that would likely have been the speculator boom and subsequent bust. With the prices on older comics on resale as collector's item becoming more of a mainstream bit of knowledge, comic companies tried to capitalize. There was a surge of companies trying to capitalize with tons of 'special edition', 'variant', new number one issues, etc. New companies popped up left and right trying to get skin in the game. Everyone wanted to be the person to have the next Action Comics #1. People who didn't really understand it tried to buy in. Problem is, markets don't work like that. Things got so over-saturated that it pretty quickly became apparent that things were being overproduced to try and capitalize. Stories weren't being written for the narrative, they were being written for the wallet. In an overstuffed market, no one makes money and no one was buying. Cue the death of 2/3rds of comic book stores due to a lack of patronage. Because no one was buying, what the companies thought they'd be selling, there was too much supply and not enough demand and the companies and stores were left with piles and piles of books people didn't want. DC, arguably, made it a lot worse with two pretty iconic stories in retrospect- killing off superman and breaking batman. They heavily advertised it as the end of an era, and speculators who didn't understand that nothing ever reeeeeally changes in comics bought in thinking they were grabbing a piece of history. This lead to the opposite problem- too much demand and not enough supply, and too many copies of the books in existence to actually make them worth anything (not to mention the status quo restoring pretty quickly as is the wont of comics to do, especially in the 90s). Regardless of which is more to blame, the bottom fell out of the market and the industry crashed pretty hard. Even Marvel had to declare bankruptcy for a time. Tl;Dr? Comic books became Beanie Babies.
Ahhh! The Aetherochemical Research Facility in roulette! So many wipes! Healers rage quitting even when they were the one dying! So many times when the group committed to complete the run but in the end we run out of time, and fail. Good times! I think the weirdest thing it happened to me there was that time when we have FINALLY progressed enough to face the sphere, and the tank stood right next to me, a squishy black mage, which already had got some hits, I'm guessing it was the tankbuster he shared with me what killed me instantly
Last mentor roulette I got before DT was ARF, and even with me talking the new players through the mechanics, it took us 3 tries to beat Ascian Prime, but we got it in the end. The best part is that I was running as WHM with my glamour that consists of the Sophist's set with the Sharlayan Diadema (the crown of grape leaves) & Hades' WHM staff, and my raise macro of "By my power as the 14th seat, I call you back to this plane!" whenever I had to rez someone. I wonder if, when they get to a certain point in Shadowbringers, they realize who they had standing by their side against Igeyorhm & Lahabrea that day...
As someone who does a lot of Bozja… It does feel so weird that things don’t spin while blasting forwards and back. I get thrown off by Construct 7 in RL raid because I expect the exhaust hitting me as well as the laser show.

"Eh, was about to go to bed, but f*ck it" - 40 min later, worth it. I absolutely love these videos. I do all my rouls almost daily, and it's nice to see other people suffer in similar fashion to me 😂 I
My friends do not believe me when I say rouls are fun - especially mentor.
Now the main question: when will a new episode of _Mad Because Small_ come out? :D We need to know how the baby's story continues!
11:30 the La Hee bat bounce 😂
14:41 I think Magitek Scorpion used to also have Extreme Caution so you'd blow up if you move but I guess this dungeon got changed
Last mentor video before Dawntrail. I will keep giving you my energy as I prep my challenge log for the update. :(
I think I heard somewhere that the death of the comic industry can be traced back to a shift in distribution. Before they where sold anywhere magazines where so anyone with a passing interest could read them. Then at some point they where only carried in specialty "comic book" stores which were frequented by only by people dedicated enough to go to such a place.
Getting Wanderer’s Palace Hard is pretty appropriate for Dawntrail week
I can't wait to see Dzmael Darkhold for every single video going forward.
"at least it's the final dungeon" **suspiciously 10 min left in video** oh no...
I mean they could always do something for new zones like HW relics did - if you have say full magicite then it gives you a head start on whatever mechanic is in the new area
"And your reward for being experienced is: 🎉 less game! 🎉"
"My leg's not long enough" from that deep voice was absolutely hilarious.
Really been enjoying your achievement journey. Any chance of getting Twitch vods on a separate UA-cam channel? Would enjoy watching but I'm never on twitch.
I like how time goes on you use more and more versions of "TREMBLE"
12:25 There is another trick for that part of the dungeon.
If you get the gorillas to start throwing at you from the side, then you leave that giant square area back to where the wall broke down.
The gorillas will stop attacking and jump onto the platform early, allowing you to pickup that whole group in one shot.
So you don't have to kill the group and then wait for the gorillas to jump over.
Good news Cider, Mentor roulette will be closed during the beginning of DT, as I understand it. So you'd have to put this series on hold anyway!
I recommend the 10-20 treasure map roulettes on Mondays :)
if you have to change your upload schedule to reduce your stress, please do so. i've been subbed since Mad Because Small:tm:. i'm more than happy to wait for the amazing content you put out and i'm sure others are as well.
take care of yourself. from one angry lala to another lolol
That last boss pwns me too because you only get that dungeon once in a blue moon and my brain can only keep so many boss fights stored.... :D
Thanks for making fun content, Cider Spider! Have fun in Dawntrail!!
Man, at this rate the word TREMBLE is gonna activate me like a dormant Winter Soldier
you get into a ring with a typical peanut butter you got a 50/50 shot of winnin'--
5pm exhaustion was strong in this one.
"The End of Days could be happening right now in Florida and you wouldn't be able to tell." Is not a take I expected to hear tonight
The amount of Hypreborea runs I've gotten as hearler or tank is astounding. It's 500% the skip buyers that don't bother to read tooltips before queuing and bots getting ready to ruin the DT launch.
"I don't experience despair, I just don't care"
later: "I gave up too soon"
What song plays during Wanderer's Palace Hard? It's so familiar.
Found it. The Black Wolf Stalks Again.
This video is never late. I absolutely love getting the notification that the mentor shenanigans are up and these videos have been a much needed enjoyment the last few weeks while I've been essentially doing the job of 2-3 people at work (gotta love retail right?)
Happy dawntrail!
Love watching your vids. Great job on the editing. Gives me a bit of a game fix; too busy to play IRL lately. Keep up the good work!
Batsqauch mosh pit w LAHEE repeating on each step got me 😂😂😂
28:00 Dragoon does get an AOE in the form of Doom Spike at level 40, does not feel great to use until you get Sonic Thrust to combo into at 62. Still, it does exist.
Video is a mood
every sprout that queues into this has difficulty learning the 2nd phase
Especially when its a healer player
have to mark myself each time to follow to help them
I just use the food from the vendor in the Gold Saucer, always have, very occasionally I will use some of the better stuff, which mostly are quest rewards so cost nothing just to use them up.
But I will always use it and I always repair after but that's just me I guess.
La he la he la he la he when the bat did subsonics 😂
LAHEE
The single pulling tank and the ifrit mob pull was incredibly funny
The best brand of peanut butter is whatever brand has Crunchy because fuck if I'm eating paste, I would rather fight my food.
*La-Hee Intensifies*
Honestly, I think part of the reason the despair was so effective on them because it was sudden and life had been pretty good for the most part for them other than war but most hadn't thought about it in some time. For us in our world, we've been on a slow downward trend so we've kind of become used to being depressed or sad and it's become a new norm. It'd take a HELL of a system shock to push a lot of us over the edge. What Might cause a monsterification would be a sharp swing in the other direction. If we suddenly went pure utopia, I know a lot of people who'd have a real hard time adjusting to it.
Going to miss this seriously while it goes on hiatus due to Dawntrail. We also need a compilation of everyone that says "TREMBLE"
Friend dont burn yourself out, if a video takes a bit longer thats ok! Editing takes a LOT of effort and time. Especially how much stuff you have to condense. Love the content and keep it up!
Jif Natural, great for smoothies. Barely different from regular Jif but I'll take any cut in sodium I can get.
I love these videos so much, Keep it up my dude
The NIN using Duton on that boss hurts my soul >_<
(the lightning shot (kaiten?) is the same exact potency, and there's no chance of them wandering out of it halfway through)
as a sprout the timing on dual stars was the hard part, I didn't know what snapshotting was so I would wait for the ice to clear out before moving to dodge the fire, but you need to move the moment the attack happens. every fight before hand had a large window between successive AOEs so it didn't really matter if I waited for the effects to go away, but this attack in particular basically forced me to learn what snapshotting was and how attacks actually work.
37:19 The world shall tremble UNLEASH TREMBLE!
Facts @@m_chupon5131
Tl;Dr? Comic books became Beanie Babies.
for the record, I'm HEAVILY summarizing in the above and leaving out a lot. It's a pretty fascinating topic worth looking in to for the interested
OKay, that's a sickass macro res.. I gotta properly setup macro raises like that.
This baby is jumping af
🤣
Sprouts who pay attention to the jumping baby? Inconceivable!
As someone who does a lot of Bozja… It does feel so weird that things don’t spin while blasting forwards and back.
I get thrown off by Construct 7 in RL raid because I expect the exhaust hitting me as well as the laser show.
