How did people so unique as these cats find each other in rural Alabama? I live in L.A. and can't find anyone similar enough to me to do projects with. Crazy.
There was at one more numerous outfits of this band touring, simultaneously at one point possibly. But I know for sure there have been a great amount of players in the band, not just who you see here, who, as stated by the drummer says, "Im not star crunch"
"Auburn, Alabama", in the early 90's, while not a large town, was not what anyone would consider "rural". It was exactly that; an early 90's College Town. And like most, it had a plethora of aspiring young musicians. It was also a "must stop" town for touring punk and indie bands.
@@noahholt7489 giving me shivers. that made me smile reading that. I love the shoals. I always tell people it's heaven on earth to shatter their stereotypes.
@@Handfast , yes, outside of Starcrunch, Coco, and Birdstuff, there have been a substantial number of other members, which have mostly been pulled from other bands and touring staff they have met in their travels.
@@noahholt7489 I held up their drum cymbal for a good 4 songs when Birdstuff decided to shove it to me. I dig the inclusivity. fill me in about when there was an entire femme version of the band at one point too? I like the idea of two bands touring as the same act at the same time just to mess with people, but it's quite tactful and business savy as well. one of the hardest working bands still going is MOAM?
Saw them live in 1996 or so in my hometown, we skated in the hall during their concert as not much people showed up, it was almost a private concert. After the show we hanged out and they wanted to try a ride on our typical dutch bicycles. Indeed one of the best live shows and just a fun crew to hang with. Nowadays i have a kid who smiles at 'uranus is a planet'.
I've seen them so many times at 1st Ave in Minneapolis and their live show never disappointed. Still one of my all time favourite bands and an undeniable influence on the music I make now.
You should reach out to them. As a fan since 1992, I can testify that Man Or Astroman? have serious power- having even one of the crew onboard would boost your channel. And besides that, they are just fun and amazing to talk to.
I just stumbled across this band on an Amazon playlist and I just can't stop listening to them. I'm not sure if they tour anymore, But I'll be there if they do.
My daughter and I saw you guys last summer in Phoenix AZ, prior to that it had been 20+ years since the last show. Needless to say but will anyways, you still got it man. The stage presence is incredible and you guys rock the casbah as usual. Headed to see if you lo be returning any time soon. Fingers 🤞
I’ve just heard of them today! I love their style. Figured them out through Brian Causey since he played the Jimmy Neutron theme song. Always loved the surf rock style of instrumentals in that song.
Hey folks, I am here because WAAAYYYYY back in the day, Joel Hodgson mentioned MOAM? on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Been hooked ever since. I have no affiliation (I wish I did), but some of the MST3K gang are doing another Kickstarter to fund season 13! Would you please consider supporting them? Thank you, won't you?
I can’t thank you enough for your music you guys have been get me through years of hard work since the 90s! If you ever need a shredder or a great lead vocalist Aka my wife I’m here
😀They are the heirs of Devo! 🤗👏👏
This band puts on one of the best shows. I am still so glad I I got to see them live and that I introduced friends to their music.

They are touring now/this year.
I love how there are no ads before the man or astroman videos. That's a good thing. Lame ass corporate fools!
Amazing as always. Come back to Chile, Moam!!!!

It absolutely thrills me that they were still adding the dark cryptic 24 Hours song at this point.

I saw these guys at the Middle East in Boston in the 90's. They put on a kick ass show!
OMG!!! this is amazing music!!!
love these guys
My channel controls have no slider to increase the Sferic Waves - lousy Earth science!
What, no Tesla coil? The greatest live band on this, or any planet!
Keep watching
The best!!!!!
Always a great show! -- thanks for making this available.
Rock on!
Best band ever!👽
HELL YEAH.
What was the date of this show in 2011 at the Bottletree?
Is there a set list? This is really fun music.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllll yeaah!
I really like this band. Too bad my puny, human Earth brain can't comprehend their music.
Where was this show? And does anyone know the exact date?
... but where are the guitars?
Right On, Astro Non-Men.
Where? When? How Much?
Setlist???
I've added it in a new comment.
My astral projection brought me here 🖖
kinda the surf devo.
A lot like Devo
"Join us Jim"
Is that moveless audience on heroin or reggeaton or wtf?
The cool part (synth intro) was Van Halen. Lol there rest it's just a random jam with people in jumpsuits. Corny
